AE May 26th Class "Postponed Indefinitely"

I was supposed to be in the May 26th class and just found out about 5pm that that class, and that class only has been postponed indefinitely. My friends in the June 9th class have been told that nothing has changed for them.

My guess is that there are back ups at training. Can anyone currently in training give any insight? I've heard that current instructors are being called back to AA and that they're needing to train new instructors. Can anyone provide validity?

I don't think that the class has been cancelled, but I guess I'm just being optimistic. Anyone else that was supposed to be in the May 26th wanna join my misery? What really upsets me is that they offered me May 12th three days before class and I couldn't accept it b/c it was so short notice.

I'm in the same boat as you... They even paid $10,000 for the jet course for me.

Great, we'll have to see what happens with this June class :(

Where did you do the jet course. I am in the middle of my RJO course at flight saftey and supposed to be in June 9th

I was in the May 26th class too. I'd love to know what's going on. I think the June 9th guys will probably be postponed too eventually. The HR rep that called me told me it was b/c Eagle needs to "reevaluate attrition and staffing needs." I just got the June vacancy bids from a friend.

01 DFW FO
04 DFW FO SF3
08 DFW FO EMJ

07 ORD FO CRJ
12 LGA FO EMJ
40 ORD FO EMJ
07 SJU FO ATR

Looks like their staffing issues have gotten better, but there are still openings. So, I too will remain skeptically optimistic that Eagle will call me and give me a class date later this summer. Who knows though. As for now, it's back to instructing...

15% reduction in flying after Labor Day.

Hmm....interesting...

Wouldn't surprise me mwa.

It is true though, that a couple of EMB ground school instructors have recently returned to AA, so that could be part of the problem. Unfortunately I expect hiring to slow soon (just my hypothesis) due to the recent severe slowing of attrition from Eagle and probable reductions in flying.

Hello wild speculation.

If you quote that and pass it on as fact you're a fool. No one knows what will happen. While I agree that the current market for our paltry 37, 44 and 50 seat jets is shrinking I find it hard to believe that anything will find traction before the end of the year. The regionals are in for a wild ride and there will be cuts. To say when and how much is a sucker bet.

because I want to keep my job...i wont elaborate too much. I can only speak for EMJ training. The EMJ instructors are hurting. My class's instructor was....hmm...inadequate. The class after mine went through 5 new hire instructors.

Does anyone know if they canceled classes currently in session like Republic did? or if they're just not having new classes for a while? With the vacancies, I'd expect them to have like one class a month or something, but what do I know?

IMHO, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut flying with gas so high, but I just hope, for the sake of my many friends there, that they don't furlough.

Rumors run amuck!
