Mesa closes ops
 

This is just a rumor because I don't have any solid info yet, but a friend just called me and said that Mesa is closing its doors because of Delta. I guess the decision came through. I mean, no bankruptcy or anything.

He said that on the news in Albuquerque that they were losing money already and it isnt worth it to keep operations running.

Again, this is just a rumor, as is came off a news channel in New Mexico.

People will post anything now-a-days. Any rumor heard from anyone.

Probably meant Mesa's Air Midwest ops.

I found an article with today date saying that if they lose Deltas contract they will file Bankruptcy by 7-20-08 nothing about shutting down. On PHX channel 5 website

This is extremely unlikely at this point...maybe later in the summer.

Yeah, they'll probably fire their CFO stating that they found porn on his laptop thus buying them a few more days or weeks to further cook their books. :eek:

They ran a lot of airmidwest in and out of ABQ. That would constitute a closing of opps for local media. Most likely what they are talking about.

Awfully bold move to start a thread of this nature on the basis of rumor and no solid information. I agree w/ the others, you may be speaking of AirMidwest, which recently announced they're ceasing ops shortly and served numerous destinations in NM, hence the story being reported by a news network in ABQ.

Just add a question mark to the thread title and cover your butt...

Sorry guys, I didn't realize what I typed in the topic heading. I tried to change it but I can't seem to figure that part out. I didnt mean to spread a rumor. I won't do that again. I posted out of excitement I guess and really didn't put much thought behind it.

I asked my friend if it was Mesa and not just Air Midwest and he said it was Mesa. He was prob mistaken, because I couldn't find anything to substantiate the claim.

Dont worry about it, I think that alot of people are waiting on the Mesa bust and got disappointed when they found out that it wasnt true. We all know its just a matter of time before it really happens so...
