SkyWest Question

Hey guys, I had an interview a few weeks ago with SkyWest and from my perspective it went pretty bad. But, about a week later I got an email saying they want me to come out for another interview in 3 months and someone from HR will be in contact with me. I'm wondering what that means, did skywest stop hiring lately or something? Thanks for your input.

That's interesting.

SKW has not stopped hiring and as a matter of fact they are currently gearing up for more interviews and should be running some pretty good size new hire EMB classes here VERY soon. Lately there has been a lot of activity in the training department and they just awarded a dozen or more CRJ upgrades/CA transitions (EMB CA to CRJ CA) as well as FO transitions (EMB FO to CRJ FO). Not only has there been a lot of movement from the BRO to the RJ for both CA's and FO's but there has also been several dozen FO's awarded EMB CA. Both transitioning FO''s and upgrading FO's will leave the Bro creating dozens of vacancies on the EMB side, vacancies that will be filled by new hires.

Three months? Back when I interviewed with SkyWest, I was told 6 months to re-apply. Now I'm actually glad I didn't get the job...

ya thats what they told us in the interview too. 6 months and then you have to reapply. thats why 3 months with no reapplication was confusing to me.

Just in the last 4 weeks SKW has awarded:

20 CRJ CA Upgrades/Transitions
18 EMB CA Upgrades
27 FO Transitions (EMB FO to RJ FO)

Total this created 36 EMB FO vacancies on top of the fact that we are currently understaffed on the Bro. Keep in mind that this is only one month’s worth of awards and many more should be coming.

What determines who is awarded the Bro or CRJ?

Generally...

Previous 121, military, or significant turbine time = CRJ.

CFI = Bro.

135 people could go either way.

If you have a preference, ask them nicely and they may accomodate you.

What about CFI's with a four year degree? Do they generally tend towards the bro? Thanks
