It's true. We drill the oil it will only be sold to the highest bidder. It's a hell of a scam.

The other funny thing is why we don't have refineries running at capacity. Near all are around 50% or so. Takes a hell of a rig to run off of a barrel of pure dino juice.

According to http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/hist/mopueus2A.htm , US percent utilization of refinery capacity was at 83% in March 2008, the most recent available data. While this is five to seven percent below average over the last ten years, it is certainly more than 50%.

Edit: Found another page (http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pe...dcus_nus_w.htm) that shows weekly data: 87.90% for 5/23/08
