Hey Wavit,

I am in the CRJ pool currently flying for another airline and am seriously considering coming to SKW. In light of what you know about future plans/staffing where do you believe new hires in the next 2 or 3 classes will be based? I asked a similar question in another thread and received 2 totally different responses. I'm a 15 year airline vet so I know the game. To make the move I need to be confident of being either at ORD or MKE fairly quickly. Any info you or anyone else can provide would help a lot! I know ORD and MKE has been the junior assignment until recently but in the other thread one guy said I'd be there right away and another said he has been trying to get in for like 14 months...... appreciate it!

Whoever said 14 months has no clue what they’re talking about. ORD or MKE are our most JR domiciles and you can count on getting one of the two right away. If you don't then you'll get it before you ever finish IOE.

B757CA Jetjock is exactly right. If you want MKE or ORD it will be yours right away. There are long lists of guys who want out of there, they are just waiting for new hires to come take their place. I wouldn't worry about being able to hold ORD or MKE. It was be yours right out of training.

If you're flying the jet.

He said he was in the pool so I assume he is waiting for the jet.

Thanks for the quick responses. Per the "you're hired" communiques I received and continue to receive, I am in the CRJ pool. Your answers are helpful...going to start another thread about ORD particulars....

I have just over 800 hours TT and 114 hours multi. I actually want the EMB in Fresno. Would it be wise to send in my applicaion now or wait until I have the 1000 hours TT?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure they do not drop below 1000 TT.

Any idea how many interviewies actually get class date offers?

Sorry to butt in here but I have a question regarding Sky West that isn't worthy of starting a new thread. Can anyone tell me how many hours per month/year whatever you guys log and secondly, do they allow flying on the side...? Am currently flying a Citation CJ2 looking for more time...

Logged 121 time 2008
56.5 Jan on reserve
40.0 Feb on reserve
85.2 March lineholder
73.4 April lineholder, displaced from additional 22 hr trip
63.3 May lineholder, displaced from additional 21 hr trip
Since becoming a line holder I have been scheduled for a minimum of 80 plus hours of flying per month.

For T2Pilot....... Minimums are 1000 TT. I do not know if SkyWest has gone below that ever. There is no ratio on interviewed people and job offers. Bring your A game and Be Yourself. The people on the hiring panel do a great job and want to get to know you and ultimately ask themselves if they would want to spend four days with this applicant in a small shiny tube hurtling through the air depending on one another to get the job done.

With prior 121 Jet-time, you'll get a call at 850TT...I was hired at 802 back when they were desperate - right place at the right time.

My numbers for '08 (lineholder)

June: Block 96, Credit 104
May: 96/108
April: 87/102
March: 94/108
February: 84/104
January: 91/102

Considering that that is with flying being very tight, you can squeeze the same. I still had 12+ days off a month...just be creative. My best month was last year, blocking 99.8 hours and crediting 144. Have only credited <100 hours once (reserve month), and brought in 30K first year.

My chime in: In my first year here on the Bro I flew a good 1000+ hours and could have flown many more if I wasn't a long haul commuter from the underwater tornado country of Iowa.
Ok...here is another question for you guys. I as awared SLC in the CRJ here in June. I am trying to get to ORD or MKE. (Only one senior to me was awared MKE - ORD-0) When can I put my bid in for ORD/MKE? When I get into class? It dosen't give me the option yet to put in a base transfer for the CRJ, only the option for the CRJ/EMB upgrade. Do you think I can get these bases by time I am out of training? Thanks in advanced!
