Default skywest "reserve base"

I asked the SKW recruiter about SFO as a domicile and she said it was a 'reserve base.' Since we don't have these at Eagle, what exactly does it mean and how difficult (long) would it be before one could hold it? Thanks for any help.

Well, looking at current #s. There are 8 crew members in SFO. 5 on CRJ and 3 on the EMB. The most Jr CRJ FO has a 1700 sr # and the most Jr EMB FO has a 2600 sr #. What does this mean? On the CRJ 1.5 to 2 yrs currently and on the EMB 6-8 mo.

However, until recently I think SFO, on the EMB FO side has been fairly jr and there is only 1 EMB FO at SFO. They most likely wanted to be there so it could be a while or then again maybe not.

On the CRJ side there are 2 FO slots but they are much more sr.

A "RSV Base" is just that. The only lines available for bid are RSV Lines. These will be built to 75hrs and have 12 days off.

If SFO works for you, FAT may also and if so your QOL would be 10 times better and you would likely hold a line on the EMB within 2-3mo.

Cheers!

When did we get 12 days off? I thought it was 10 and 11 depending on whether it was a 30 or 31 day bid period? Did SAPA finally get the extra day approved?

It is not days off that are in policy it is NMT 20 duty that is the policy......thus on 30 day months reserves get 10 days off, and 31 day months it is 11 days off. There is a policy going into place that would drop the duty day limit to 19, but I don't know how far from being implemented it is.

Ya know what, I'm messed up on this. I thought it was 12 and I always had at least 12 days off the months I had a RSV line but I went back and read the manual. You guys are correct, 10 or 11 depending on the # of days in the month.

Thanks

I think the company builds 12 days off into reserve lines, but could go to 11/10 if they needed to.
