It's a risk I'm willing to take. Big F will hit everywhere, just a matter of time. If I do get F-ed I'll be changing careers.

Thanks, no problem....your woman told me your fate for tomorrow, so no hurt feelings. If there's any help i can lend out, just ask...unfortunately, my company isn't hiring right now either...and odds are, if you'd come here b4, you'd be in the same situation that's facing you now....best of luck bud, keep me posted.

I think in the thread that got closed they said it was only going to be for 2 months. Can anybody confirm that?

ExperimentalAB 06-13-2008 02:08 PM

Agreed. They told one of the guys AT LEAST 2 months and they'd like to have everyone recalled in 6 at the latest... I'm not holding my breath...

Does anyone know if the 27 to be furloughed takes into account the number of people who requested to take voluntary leave of absence? ie...if it does then there must have originally been more then 27 to be furloughed, if it doesnt, then there will be less furloughed once they announce the voluntary loa's. Also, there should be no one denied a voluntary loa who requested one....Any thoughts?

Well, I would say it doesn't include any LOA's since actually if you count up for the bottom of the master senority list they actually got 28 guys, we're not sure why. I know probably 75% of those guys and girls, I actually didn't end up as bad as some as I hadn't completed my move into base... but other guys I know moved all their **** here only to get furloughed.... that sucks

This industry certainly is a crapshoot isn't it?

I guess I am just a sucker for punishment!

Im in the same seat. Was going May 11th...then June 2nd...then in a pool and told it may be until September. I have also heard that companies will start hiring once the furloghing is done. I dont know how true that is but it gave me some hope. Im going back to do the CFI thing until I get a call back.
