Jumpseating on XJT
#1
I'm planning to jumpseat on a couple XJT flights operated for CAL. Do I need to list in advance like on Frontier, or do I just show up at the gate and have the agent there list me?

Yep, only way to do it is at the gate. We do have a cabin jumpseat, which we can use as ExpressJet pilots, but I don't think other airline (OAL) pilots can use it. I think FA's from other airlines that have agreements with our FA's can use it , but I couldn't find anything in our ops manual that permits OAL pilots. Best bet is to contact our jumpseat committee or yours, because those agreements always change and the jumpseat section of our ops manual hasn't been updated in over a year.

yeah go figure. I just wonder if it was pre-weight mod idea or post-weight mod idea. Because I can't really see it being used with 50 passengers + 50 bags + 1 cockpit jumpseater without the weight mods we have on the 145's. But, it has gotten me home before even when an alternate required. Heaviest I've ever seen the plane.

Yeah, I've had some Xjet flight attendants try to get on our cabin jumpseat. They're rather confused to find out we don't have one...
