Speaking of IAH, I get a kick out of the "Houston Intergalactic" guy. "Jetlink XXXX, cleared visual approach runway 27, Houston Intergalactic."

Also, one of the tower controllers always extends and trails off the last bit of every sentence. I'm sure most of you jetlinkers have heard him. "XXXX, cleared for takeooooooofff," "XXXX, cleared to laaaaaaaand." I've been tempted to mimic him but I always chicken out.

There's also a super happy EWR controller that I ended up talking to pretty recently. He's always in a great mood, and I remember we had this exchange a couple weeks ago:

Tower: "Jetlink XXXX, taxi across 11, hold short of 22R at Z...looks like GREKI shut down for now."
Me: "Awww, I knew that was coming...(reads it back)."
Tower: "Better than me telling you that you were on fire!"
Me: "That's debatable."
Tower: "You've been flying here too long!"

 

The chick at Long Beach for sure!!!

We always called her 1-900-ATIS. but also at LGB every pilot says with a chuckle 'We are comming over BECCA" when they check in with tower.

 

I'm sure he's already been mentioned, but Mr. Rogers at Chicago Center gets my vote... WELCOME ABOARD!!!

 

I would have to say that all the guys in Denver are awesome. I have never been in such a pilot friendly environment.
How many of you have actually taken the tower tour and met these guys? I thought that may be a good idea.

Definitely the "break" ramp controller in DEN.

 

That guy in Atl who insists on every transmission be like a read back on your ppl check ride...he's my least favorite. Don't know if I've got a #1.
