Skywest interviews

Does anyone have any insight on whether or not Skywest will continue with interviews into July? If so how far out are the classes ?

I assume yes, but I have yet to hear about a confirmed new hire RJ class date. I THINK we have been hiring about 10 a month into the EMB. Supposedly, we are to start receiving 22 rj's around years end. These were originally supposed to replace EMB's that were leaving, but apparently they found some flying for them somewhere. So if what I am hearing is correct, the 22 planes will be additional aircraft.

flew with someone on the interview team yesterday. They have all been pulled off of interviews for the ENTIRE month of July. No interviews for July at all as of now. Sounded like there were 90-100 in the pool for the yet but we are still losing 20 a month so who knows if it will change.

I wouldn't say "lose" seeing we’re still not flying the 25 jets we’re under contract for. I believe we are only operating around 21 or so with the others scheduled to come on line later this year. My guess is for the addition a/c to be put on hold until further notice but others may & should know more. As far as the flying, I'd expect a reduction in block hours but how much has yet to be seen.

We are still extremely short on EMB FO's and fat on RJ FO's. If hired and you receive the RJ, plan on swimming for the better part of a year or maybe longer. If you get the EMB then you could start class in the next month or two.

Not sure but that is what I was told.

We've only averaged 16 a month since I've been here and I've only moved up 5 or less per month since last October. So unless FO's are bailing left and right I think your numbers are a little high.

BTW, I check our list religiously; I’m a numbers guy so it’s always on my mind.

No offense intended.

If you have current 121 time does that automatically mean your going the rj? Or can you ask for the emb?

No, you will be given a choice where as CFI's are usually given no choice (unless we're short staffed on the RJ, which isn't our current situation).
