Has any one worked for or looked into Scenic Airlines? I know they operate Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas under Part 121 but thats about all I know. Does anyone have any information about working conditions, pilot pay, schedule, required contract, minimums?? Any information I can get would be appreciated.

Yes, we are part 121. Yes, we fly the Canyon. We also have three 1900's that we fly to other places. F.O. pay is 13.50 a flight 6.25 a ground hour. Captian pay is around 24.50 flight pay 12.25 a ground hour. Up grade, if you choose to stay that long, is a year or less. Contract is one year $ 7,000 pro rated. Schedual, we bid on days off per month, not "lines". It's a great place to work. Hope this answers some questions.

How many hours you had when you got hired? Also how long does it take to get on the 1900? Are there any plans for bigger or new airplanes? How many hours a year/month do you guys fly? Where do pilots go when they quit (what airlines)?
Thanks

Very cute…I was just curious to see of they have any connections with airlines. Obviously it is doubtful that a guy flying an Otter is going to make the jump onto 737 (yes I know there have been cases when this happened, but very few).

"I was just curious to see of they have any connections with airlines" Were not a flight school, we don't have "connections" to other 121 airlines.

I got friends that work there and they don't have anything positive to say. John Bruce is awful as well as the rest of mgnt. I hear he is on the way out though. If you stick around for the upgrade you have to sign another one year contract. The only good thing is with turbine time you'll get that Skywest job after a year.
