Skywest does not hire DCA types with below minimum times. We have no formal relationship to DCA, or any other flight school for that matter (you may see more from one school or another, but that's a function of pilot networking not agreements). We have no "package deal" with Delta with regards to the pilots we hire. We only hire those pilots who meet our minimums of 1000/100/100.

That's been my experience in the last couple years being involved with pilot hiring- things could have been and probably were different before my time.

The recent trend, viewed from the outside, is that mostly previously qualified CRJ drivers from Flyi, mesa, pinnacle, etc. are being assigned to the CRJ. There are a lot of those folks out there...

CFI's are getting the Brasilia, at least this is what seemed to happen last year.

Smile Curious about a few things

Hello all, first time posting here.

I am a former ACA/FLYI RJ pilot. I just got my ATP 3/19 through the WARN act here in Boise ID. I have 2000 total with 1200 multi and 300 hours as an RJ FO with Independence. I just received an interview schedule back and will interview on Wed May 3rd. I am curious about what I read about hotels. I understand the whole double occupancy during training....but is that true for on line?! Is Skywest an ALPA carrier?

Wait a minute, if they're saying that CRJ FOs for Skywest are on reserve for 5+ months, why are guys from Mesa, Pinnacle, etc, are willing to transfer?

Because there are a lot of people who would rather shove a spoon up their a$$ than stay at places like Mesa and Pinnacle.
