Nothing really on AP. They are staying pretty quiet. Just some interesting stuff I heard from a few training captains: (Please take all the following as just a rumor)
1: The CLT sim lost it's cert for intial and up grade training. It's only good for CQ now. I was also told that they no longer make parts for the visual screens so as soon as one of them go, bye bye CLT sim. 2: If we get the 200's, then those who never flew them have to go to a 200 sim for transition training. The sim in CLT isn't approved for that. I know that we don't have anybody in this boat, but same goes for the 300's. It now requires a sim for differences training. 3: The 13 300's PDT was looking at in Spain went to CommutAir. Supposedly we had a rep look at them and said they were in really bad shape. 4: AWAC is getting a lot of the flying that the sold 190's had and PDT is supposed to replace those AWAC routes. However, I got stuck in the snow storm and had a good talk with a mainline crew. They said that due to their scope, if flying is given to another carrier, because of losing equipment, then USAirways can't furlough pilots. So this rumor might change soon. This is where the recalls and possible hiring this spring came from so who knows. 4: Wills went to PHX to look at the planes we would get first. Many were just a few hundred hours from having to go to heavy check and there were some engines that were close to timing out, but they think PHX is a done deal. All above info is just he said/she said/rumors on the street. Nothing has been released to us, and won't be until MGMT finds a way to screw it up. I wonder, if we end up getting those 200s whether or not they will keep em as is (as in no APUs). From what I've heard, they have a lot more air carts out west, but knowing airways/ mesa probably half of them work, and most of those working ones are hooked up to RJs with working APUs. |

They will have to put them back. Piedmont is required by the FAA to keep a standardize fleet with the only waiver been the efis in the 300's

what is the reasoning for the sim qual in the 200. If we only have the 100 sim for CQ. And we can fly the 300?

In really bad shape?????? what airplane out there can be in worse shape than some of the 100's we have on the fleet... |

I found a video someone taped of a test flight for one of the new planes the company was able to afford...it's shot in the new PHX hanger...I heard they ran the numbers and it's pretty good on fuel
