Their reasoning in calling Mesa in BK a 'bad' thing is because apparently it locks down their assets. Airways can't wheel and deal with Mesa over items like DHC8 flying, subleases, etc.. while a court is now responsible for all of mesa's assets/liabilities.

So i went over to Piedmont Fleet of DH8 (Active) - Airfleets and there you can do research on aircraft serial numbers. This is all public information anyway, so using that list you could surmise that 21 of our dashes are prior to serial number 224. One of those is a 300.

That kind of reduction would eliminate the entire FO list as it stands today, and I really hope things don't go that way.

I do question the 224 number, however, as airfleets does not show #224 in pdt's fleet. Maybe he meant 'aircraft prior to 221'? That would make sense, and removes the 300.

My understanding of BK law is extremely limited (seems like they make up the rules as they go), but I'd imagine that if Mesa really wanted out of the the whole DH2 fleet and Piedmont expressed enough interest in taking those airplanes that the court would move quickly to nullify the leases and get the airplanes generating revenue again for the creditor (leasing co). I'm sure the lessor would have no problem with that.

BK just seems like a maze of conflicting interests, but getting the -200s on Piedmont property seems like a win for all parties involved if that's how it would play out.

So if those airplanes did time out and we did get the airplanes from Mesa, maybe that would help balance out some of the layoffs that would come with losing 20+ aircraft. I think by then we will have 737s so it doesn't really matter.

If you look on the Mesa website, it says that they plan to eliminate ALL turboprop flying in the Spring of '10.....this press release came out in October of '09. So it looks like the decision has been made several months ago and the bankruptcy shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Just an FYI, recall number is up to 10.
#s 9-10 got the call today.

As it stands, 1 of the 10 is deferring, so when that RSVP is sent back saying deferred, #11 should get the call.

11 did get the call today. He said both "Hey Buddy" and DJ called him on speaker phone. He accepted for Feb 10th class. Congrats to all! Anyone know if 12 or 13 got a call? Just wondering how high it went.

I think I'm #13 and I didn't get a call yet. Real nail biter over here.
