Missed Assignment. Btw, for all you eagle guys on an unrelated note, what the hell happened to eaglelounge?

It temporarily imploded due to an overabundance of whining.

Lawsuits? For what? I mean besides charging $5 to become a member...what laws could they have possibly run afoul of???

willflyforcash 07-28-2008 07:33 PM

yeah.. i dont really know the whole story but between badmouthing people by name on a public forum, harsh statements and false information, someone decided to make a slander suit against another eaglelounger.

im way overly simplifying it but that is the gist.

Oops. Oh well. I could never see forking over $5 for what anyone can get for free anyhow. I guess I'm just cheap like that.

Aren't pagers used any more? Since in this case it matters so much, wouldn't it be smart to have an extra way to receive a message in case your cell phone is out of range? Even a second cell phone on a separate network would seem to be a good idea if it can mean saving your job while you are on reserve.

I don't really think you'd get fired for one missed assignment. Plus when you're on the 2-hour call out, they have to call in order of seniority and there's a way to watch how many people are below and if you're next in line. Typically when I see I'm next in line I'll check every so often to see if somehow I've been skipped or something so that's another backup to getting the missed assignment taken care of right away. That's a lot cheaper than having two cell phones or a cell and a beeper.
