Working in this industry, you should also know that, sometimes, it is darkest just before it goes completely black...

How long has Pinnacle been in negotiations? That sounds like bargaining in bad faith to me. 9 hours and the GM workers got what they wanted. I hope the pilots do get released. Good luck to them.

GM does not work under the RLA....big difference in how things get done.

Just got an e-mail from the Pinnacle recruiter...

...she stated in her e-mail, "we have finally rescheduled our new hire pilot classes throughout the remainder of the year." However, they are still not interviewing (or at least haven't assigned any interview dates yet). She did include an attachment for paperwork required to "bring to the interview."

I wonder if they'll resume their hiring? I'm not trying to spread rumors or anything....just updating things from the generic e-mail to Pinnacle applicants. I had been offered a tentative interview with them earlier this summer.

I just got a similar email. In my case, however, I was in the hiring pool so the email went on to say that based on where I am in the pool I would be scheduled for a Sept class and that they'll be notifying me "within the next week" as to the specific date.

Oh, congrats man. The only thing needed now is a new contract. One can hope... :o

Thanks for the info guys...it's good they might start offering class dates again...gives us more ammo in negotiations too!!! (i.e. even more difficult for anyone to try threatening job cuts as a negotiating tactic...since we can say "uhhh, if you need to cut then why are you running new hire classes again?").

If anyone gets out of our pool and needs any advice/info on training/Memphis/etc. PM me fo sho!!!

just heard this today too. should be good news. i think some other things are coming down the pipe and we should fire interviews up again pretty soon. dont give up!

Silver02ex 08-07-2008 10:25 AM

My senority moved up about 10 this month, i'm sure if this keeps up they'll have to start a new hire class here and there.

If you need a job and have CRJ time by all means, send a resume in. I hate to sound optimisitc, as I'm a pessimistic person in general, but I think the time and excuses of mgmt are running out, and the NMB is getting more heavily involved, and a merger is looming, so hopefully we'll get a new contract and secure a future in the new Delta. It would be preferable for someone to get in now before things either get lots better or lots worse...if that makes any sense.

Aside from the (hopefully) new contract, what else do you think is cookin'?

Good. I'll just email her directly with an updated resume instead of doing the airlineapps thing. Thanks.

another bit of good news...Nikki Tinker, one of PNCL's blood sucking, anti-labor corporate attorneys, got SLAMMED in the election for her run for state senator. RE-JECTED!!!!!!:D

More like mixed news. It's good she hit a speedbump in her career, but it sucks that she'll still be around Nonconnah.

AMEN! Hopefully soon!! - I could use some seniority . . . Looks like my seniority number moved up almost 100 points in the last month and a half. They are loosing some people so I was wondering what they were gonna do.
I hear that INDOC is at home via CDs now . . .

Yeah...it's been good in MEM, we've had almost 40-50 new FOs move in (and 15-20 MSP senior TDYs move out) over the last month and into the next month. That no bid list looked like I think 34 new hires should be online here by the Sept bid. Then we'll go through a few months of pause from the hiring freeze, then who knows where those Sept/Oct guys will go...looks like it should be DTWs turn for some new hires, and I would imagine they'll start blocking the credit upwards for winter.
