How bout this.....Anybody reading this thread who is hoping to get a job in the near future with Mesa or whoever. Promise everybody who are at companies who have contracts that are worth a **** (comparativley) that if you can vote when the union comes to you with a TA....Vote no unless its an improvement over regional industry standards, not just the **** poor contract that you currently have. Make it better for everyone.

The 2007 contract is likely to see some big changes, and a strike is almost assured.
Most Mesa pilots don't approve of PFT. But it is a waste of time to spend enegry blaming those people, most didn't know any better when they signed up...we need to educate the entry-level folks instead. That's the beauty of the internet and forums like this.
But save your bitterness for management (or your wife or your dog), random ranting is not going to help anything. JO would love it if the entire industry actually despised his pilot group...then he could get them to come over to HIS side. You do realize he want's 737s on property and the the only thing stopping him is his pilots

What would happen if I got hired there and we went on strike? I did send in my app. Its long shot for me but, I seem to go where the controversey is. I tried Boston Maine a while back and got hired as a ramper then tried for the J31 pilot position but, the owner went nuts fired all the ALPA pilots and there was all kinds of craziness and talks of blacklists. I got the hell out there. I don't need to be blacklisted

As to why you would stop them...if you can get industry standard pay & benefits, there's no reason to stop anything. But that's pretty unlikely to happen at Mesa...most of the pilot's have no interest in flying 73's for RJ pay and undercutting mainline.
There are always a few senior career regional guys who would be willing to do it though.
