Lynx Aviation

I just saw on career builder that Lynx is hiring... Does anyone have information regarding this? And if so where do you to apply? Any and all info would be great!

Flyboyrw 09-06-2008 03:17 PM

the class starts monday and i think its full.
not sure of any classes after that, I doubt it since I think staffing is pretty good.

They are still looking. Sounds like one more class.

Someone I know was offered an interview on Friday night for sometime this week, which would lead me to believe they are still hiring for a future class date or building a pool.

Needless to say, they are still looking for pilots.

I'm having problems registering on their website any other options?

msw21 09-07-2008 06:46 PM

Does anyone know how rigid the minimums are?

I'd mention that you are having trouble registering on the website...

Right now? I'd say that unless you know the recruiter personally, one will probably need more than the mins to get an interview. Lots of furloughed 121 guys out there...

Never hurts to apply though.

I thought I saw mins at 500/50 but like you've already read. If you dont know anyone or dont have well above the mins then godspeed to ya. But you'll never get a call if you dont apply.

Flyboyrw 09-08-2008 12:28 AM

i dont think they were ever that low, 750 and 100 at least. and like he said, thats the min., I would expect them to hire much higher then what is posted with the options they have on the street. BUT, check out lynxpilots.com, you can see the problems and issues at lynx, as there are many. The next class i am not sure of, and I don't think they have one set. The one that starts tomorrow is the one that they were advertising to get people into.

dn_wisconsin 09-08-2008 06:36 AM

Hey does anyone one know if there are any ex-skyway there. There was a rumor awhile back that our cheif pilot left and went to Big Sky and then went to Lynx. I think also a sim instructor of ours.

SkywayExed 09-08-2008 07:43 AM

I work here but I think I am the only one. The old chief pilot defintely does not and a sim instructor used to.

dn_wisconsin 09-08-2008 09:40 AM

how long were you at skyway?

SkywayExed 09-08-2008 05:46 PM

Year and a half, maybe a little less

steak pilot 09-08-2008 07:45 PM

How safe is Lynx? With F9 in hot water what would become of them if F9 went Tango-Uniform?

Not trying to flame, just a legit question.

Anything from liquidating the assets to a spin-off is possible.

I can guarantee what will happen is whatever will make the creditors the most money.

Really, how safe any airline is these days...

LIOG41 09-13-2008 09:48 AM

Do they require you to give up your s/n number?

I hope old GV doesnt end at Lynx and put them out of business, like Skyway/Big Sky.

dn_wisconsin 09-13-2008 12:30 PM

ya no kidding when a CP tells the pilot group, "if i could fire one pilot a month i would and then everyone would respect me." ya ok...way to go GV

Wow...sounds like a fantastic guy to work for! Where do some of these guys get off with mentalities like that?

mmaviator 10-17-2008 04:38 PM

is lynx aviation still NOT giving their fo's a type in the dash?

They did when they got the types fee with the aircraft they bought in the beginning. They don't now.

I don't think its too common in the industry to type FO's anyways.

What the heck happened to him after Big Sky? With that logic and "leadership" style, though, it sounds like he's prepping for the McDonald's Junior Management Training Program.

Ed: I just read back a little more.

Those that fly international do. Canada/Mexico.

mmaviator 10-18-2008 08:55 AM

You only have to have an SIC type and that is what you will get at airlines that serve Canada and Mexico. An SIC type and 35 cents will get you a phone call.

You are correct.

But its not a full type rating, its an SIC type. Its pretty much a paper exercise and not very valuable outside the company. I've got a few myself and the FSDO didn't even charge me to process the paperwork.

Probably next year when they get all the planes.

Havn't heard much on the Lynx/frontier front lately... Any new news on how they are doing and if it looks like they'll survive bankruptcy?

Has anyone gotten an interview? If so, what kind of minimums do you have?

teamdothis 02-03-2009 08:24 PM

just wondering if anyone knows about how long it takes to hear a response from the time you finish the online app? put mine in a few weeks ago and nothing yet.

Same here, finished it about 2 weeks ago..

etflies 02-04-2009 06:35 AM

Put mine in last week, but I wouldn't expect to hear from them soon. I'm guessing they are, or are about to be swamped with apps and they aren't exactly in a hiring frenzy at the moment. All we can do is wait and hope for the best!

rlh724 02-04-2009 06:40 AM

I put mine in last week, haven't heard anything yet. Also I noticed they have recentley increased their minimums. I'm guessing that is due to all the apps they are probly getting.

Spoilers 02-04-2009 06:43 AM

Just to let everyone know, thw new mins. are 1000 TT/ 100 MEL / 500 PIC

From what ive been told, preferred Mins: 1500 TT / 300 MEL. Obviously a lot more competetive right now. Apparently they have over 600 applications on file.

OperatorError 02-05-2009 03:50 PM

I emailed the recruiter and she responded saying that they are reviewing apps right now for interviews in the next few weeks. She hinted that they might be in a hiring pool.

CRJDriver 02-05-2009 03:58 PM

I got a call for an interview invite yesterday. I had my resume walked in with an internal recommendation. I guess they are trying to fill a small class for early March.
