Gulfstream and JetU taught me that. I can't believe they let a guy name Ron Mexico pay to fly a 1900..... AKA number one gear slanger.

I'm not advocating any sort of slowdown. I wouldn't want to ruin our reputation as the best airline for on time performance. I'm just saying if you are going to be as safe as possible, why does is matter if there is someone behind you or not? Maybe you should strive to be a little safer all the time. ;) The best thing that could happen is to spread our safety culture throughout all of the stations and hubs we travel to... it will have the greatest effect for all of us.

Other reason a slowdown wouldn't work here at PNCL... We don't go back on the clock for 15 mins. While everyone else gets "block or better" we get the trip value (with is typically close to block) but if we go over block we still only get the trip rig until we go over by 15 mins, then we go back on the clock. When the flights are blocked a bit high as it is (we are on the winter schedule and the deicing hasn't started yet) we would have to taxi slow as hell and still show up within 15 mins and have the same pay. I would say to be by the book, taxi at a safe speed (brisk walk per the AIM) and fly the profiles. This way everyone is legal and we can all say "we are professionals".

What ****es me off is when you have a flagship taxiiing like a frozen turtle because they dont have numbers yet, with a line of planes behind him, then as soon as he has the numbers he picks it up to a reasonable pace, rather than just having a normal taxi all the way and pulling over in the pad at the end of the runway. Or when I don't have numbers yet and ground advizes someone to follow me, I always tell ground negative numbers and they let the other aircraft go first. Then that other aircraft, after getting in front of me and knowing why I let them in front, tells ground THEY don't have numbers and taxis like a turtle. |

Another reason why it wouldnt work here is because we hired alot of Gulfstream guys, who are all now capts... I was taxiing slow as ba$$s in DTW the other day and this idiot on the radio goes "beep beep" as I rounded the corner on K it was on of our guys right on my a@@. So I stopped because a pax got up... I hate it when that happens. These Gstreamers paid 20K to fly a 1900, you think they even care if they get paid here? They just like to look in the mirror at the super 8 motel and see those shinny wings. Pinnacle is filled with idiots that think 1000hrs of PIC and then they are gonna get this magic job at the best airline in the world... I give ASA guys ALOT of credit because they have ba%%s and we dont. |

Ok this is off topic, but actually the Streamers, at least when they were my FO's when they were new hires 3-4 years ago, were better overall than any other of the "program" guys I've had. But I am sick of hearing "I'm only here for 1000 tpic then I'm outta here"

-Picking a fight Plus by the time your seniority holds MEM CA, then you wait your required year to attempt upgrade again, :p there will be a mass exodus from the majors due to age 65 and you just might get on there with the bare PIC mins ;) -Picking my nose |

-Picking a fight I hope your kidding man... which I think you are. but the next class or classes that purple has is gonna be filled with backed up military apps and mostly all the furloughed people out there from the various cargo and ATA/Champion etc.. guys. 1,000 hours of PIC myth is gone and I'm tired of hearing it. |

"Have you heard of the 1000 tpic regional pilot who gets on at a major? Some feel that you are about as likely to see a bigfoot or a mermaid than get on at a major with 1000 tpic. Many feel betrayed because their flight school told them they would be at Major of their choice with 1000 hours. $50,000 debt and 1000 hours later, they are still at a regional. Maybe you have seen him, if so you are one of the lucky ones. Stay tuned for tonights special edition episode of "unsolved airline mysteries." " |

1,000 hours of PIC myth is gone and I'm tired of hearing it. And yes I was being sarcastic in the earlier post. Those who are still sitting here expecting a FDX call just because they have 1000TJPIC and have a resume on file are kidding themselves. |
