Wow. that would be expensive for TSA (airline) as I beleive its written in the lease that hey have to be returned in at the least the condition they were given in. not to mention the FAA might have a problem with it.
On the other side, I cant beleive there hasnt been any criminal charges for what this guy did. The TSA is just trying to cover their A$$ with this whole, " he was following normal guidlines for testing aircraft security" line they are trying to sell to the flying public.
Well, I was workin' in the Indian Labour Camp when they got those birds from Eagle. According to the mechs in STL, it won't be hard to return them the way they got them, they were a mess! The elevators never did feel right on those ten airplanes, don't know what Eagle did to them. The yoke sat farther back in cruise and the nearly took full up trim AND two hands to arrest the descent on landing.
That said I feel bad for my former co-workers at TSA that are getting furloughed. If history holds though you will all find better jobs that the ones you have/had at TSA.

Sorry to all the Trans States folks. I didn't even think about that. I was wholly referring to the Smurf suited idiots that run security :)

It died quietly...like any other TSA-caused fiasco. I wouldn't expect to hear anything until next time they bust open one of our planes

At first the TSA made some sort of apology but after that they later gave the guy top marks for thinking outside of the box and trying to keep us safe. That was shortly after the incident. I'd like to hear more.
