The dude was actually flying with a very senior captain (single digit seniority) who was in the training dept.

haha, that's hilarious. That pic reminds me of someone. It wouldn't be someone who enjoys video shooting/editing would it?

Agreed... I've jumped on some other carriers flying the same equipment, and their checklists and flows were a snap compared to all the crap they have us doing.... so where the "required callouts"... not sure why seem to need to have a required "something" for just about everything, but we do.

and the latest on one of the long running arbitrations....

Monday, Oct. 20, 2008

Fellow Eagle pilots:

This afternoon, the four parties to Letter 3 received Arbitrator LaRocco’s decision in the remedy phase of the TWA Employment Opportunity dispute.

The three elements in dispute were as follows: How many additional AA pilot seniority numbers should AA’s acquisition of TWA have created for Eagle flow-through pilots awaiting them, where on the AA pilot seniority list should those numbers reside, and should flow-through pilots still at American Eagle have rights to attend TWA ‘new hire classes’.

The Arbitrator’s decision was as follows: AA’s acquisition of TWA should have generated an additional 154 AA pilot seniority numbers for Eagle flow-through pilots. That is equal to the number of TWA "new hire" pilots offered recall prior to the expiration of Letter 3. Secondly, those new AA pilot seniority numbers should reside junior to any pilot currently on the AA pilot seniority list. Third was the question of whether AA seniority holding flow-through pilots have rights to attend ‘new hire classes’ alongside their TWA counterparts. Arbitrator LaRocco found that this question did not fall within the scope of his jurisdiction. As a result of this ruling the third question must be arbitrated separately if not resolved.

Although the decision is not a complete victory, the outcome is consistent with what your MEC expected. Prior to and throughout the arbitration process, the MEC conducted significant research in consultation with numerous attorneys with intimate knowledge of Letter 3 and its history. We realize that this has been a divisive issue and we hope that between the ‘Bloch Decision’ on rights to recall and this decision by LaRocco on remedy, we can begin to gain some closure on the Letter 3 flow-through, flow-back process.

The MEC will consider whether to bring before an arbitrator the issue of flow-through pilots’ potential right to ‘new hire class’ slots at AA. Additionally, a number of furloughed AA pilots originally employed at American Eagle under the furlough protection provisions of Letter 3 are currently challenging their displacements from CJ Captain positions as a result of an internal Eagle displacement. Although these disputes are not yet over, we now have a clearer picture of the final results.

We want to thank all of those pilots who have supported your MEC during these challenging disputes. We will post Arbitrator LaRocco’s decision in this matter as soon as we receive the signed copy.

Jfk

seeing this has turned into an unofficial eagle thread....

heard this story yesterday...

our jfk base opens in one week and apparently last friday a bunch of furniture was delivered to our new crew room...which happens to be shared with the rampers....apparently before eagle folks could unwrap it, it went missing...their still looking for it...

was it stolen? i hope a crew snatched it in an attempt to thwart the jfk move...i would love to find a couple couches and some filling cabinets in the baggage compartment with some blankets thrown over them...

You've been spending too much time sitting on the crewroom couch! ;)

If it was stolen then someone had a quick change of heart and returned it all, cuz it's there...

oh come on now you know that i don't even deserve to sit on that couch....

what sucks now is that i won't even have a couch in jfk! i'll just have to lean against the ping pong table...

i got over the couches awhile ago...i started using the chairs by the computers a lot more...its easier to listen to everyone's conversations this way...;)

Flyby1206 11-03-2008 04:33 AM

Do they have any ready reserve quiet rooms set up yet? I was there on Oct 31st and the whole place was a complete mess and nothing was assembled.

withthatsaid182 11-03-2008 04:54 AM

i got an HI6 and it said something to the extent that ALPA has pointed out a lot of things that need to be taken care of quickly and mgmt is asking for our cooperation and patience during the transition.

basically they couldn't get their act together in the 4 months they saw this coming...their was probably nothing set up as per the contract and we could have easily went to the union about it.

i'm heading down tomorrow afternoon so it should be interesting.

personally, i'm not shaving or cutting my hair until i'm back in boston.:D

Wow! Now that would be good news. Expect a thousand apps a week.

Spad 11-07-2008 10:49 PM

I was afraid there would not be hiring until the Age 65 Rule caught up with FOs.

This one deserves a hiring thread. No, wait, there is already an existing hiring thread. I think it is back on page 99 or 999.

hahaha ... Seriously good news rumor!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for those FOs. Good luck Eagle.

Spad 11-07-2008 10:53 PM

Hats off to Eagle not furloughing. For all the upgrade jokes, you guys seem to have good QOL and no one wants to leave.

withthatsaid182 11-09-2008 04:01 PM

I am very fortunate that eagle did not furlough and i'll give them the credit for not just throwing out pink slips...QOL seemed to be pretty good...however no matter what anyone says with KBOS closing and KJFK opening the QOL for a lot of people is on the decline...Boston may only be a small part of the eagle system but almost 300 displaced pilots is a lot...thats almost the size of a small regional...a lot of unhappy people...we're all hoping for the best but AMR is always sure to disappoint...

Not to mention that BOS is the second most senior pilot base in the system.... wherever these guys go, (and many decided to go to DFW and ORD for better lines...) they will be senior to most.
