ToiletDuck,

just curious, what USAF contract did you have? Were you at the Academy doing the DA-20 thing?

No I was on my own. I knew they had just scrapped a bunch of their trainers and didn't have anything to replace them with. Heard they were looking at options so I made a few calls. I told them what I wanted per hour and the local FBO quoted them on the aircraft.

Flying 50 seaters on your own brand is a case of shiny jet syndrome? Don't you work at XJT?

I think the whole idea behind SJS is that it is a pilot affliction. Management made the decision to fly the 50 seaters. I don't think they want to lose money because the jets are pretty, do you?

Holy toledo thats a badly built pairing!! Well with no rigs i guess they can do that. 13.15 duty and 4.41 credit. Do you guys have a 6 hour min day?? No pay protection on anything that cancels. Why would anybody want to fly this?

We have pay protection for canceled trips so long as the company "CHQ" averages over 98.5%(I might be a little off on that figure it's right around there). Yes these trips are horrible and I don't know why so many jumped at the idea. The company was in talks with the union to adjust the compensation for them since HNL is so much more expensive however since everyone bid it anyway I guess they don't need to now. There are no overnight pairings which would mean it's not a base but don't know how much the company plans on sticking to that. If they do then the crews would get per diem 24/7 while out there.

So since its not a base the company has to provide you with a hotel to live in the whole time your out there?? After your trip do they plan on deadheading back to the east coast so you could be at home for 13 or 14 hours and deadhead back out??? Is this really a joke?? And people jumped all over this!!

Killer51883 10-21-2008 09:08 AM

its a base but it doesnt fit into our cba's deffiniton of a base---multiple destininations, multi day trips....

I wasn't getting at that I believe the company will do all those things. I'm just stating that by our CBA HNL doesn't qualify as a base.

Nope. And it matters where I work because? But I'll tell you it's not RAH. Do I get valid opinion if I work for hulas, jo, or eagle? Who exactly does in your book td?
