That wasn't supposed to be announced til Friday.

WIFlyer 10-30-2008 03:56 AM

I always thought our 'big' announcement was scheduled for next Tuesday. Whatever week you are in, always next Tuesday . . . .

ChickenFlight 10-30-2008 03:57 AM

so Mesaba and Compass folks you are now wholly owned subsidiaries of a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines. Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?

CaribPilot 10-30-2008 04:00 AM

Really REALLY  big announcement next tuesday...

Hey! Being owned by Delta means everything!

BobSakamano 10-30-2008 04:50 AM

...and nobody is getting furloughed as a result of the merger!

Everyone can breath easy now.

Northwest will not be a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines. It will BE Delta Air Lines. So really, Mesaba and Compass will be no different than Comair. Maybe you were being sarcastic. sorry

Funny. Here is what the press release says - "With the completion of the merger, Northwest Airlines is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta."

Honestly, do you folks ever read before you post your facts?:D

RockyBoy 10-30-2008 07:50 AM

Actually, Northwest Airlines Corp. became NWA Inc. yesterday. It will be a subsidiary of Delta and will further be held in another subsidiary called Nautilus Merger Corp. So Delta owns NWA Inc and will operate it as a seperate entitity within the Nautilus Merger Corp entity.

djrogs03 10-30-2008 07:54 AM

I wonder when they'll start painting airplanes...

Stryker 10-30-2008 08:25 AM

The AP story said it will be a few months.... They are going to transition somewhat slowly to make it an "easy move".. haha

Man I'll miss the silver & red...I love that color scheme and logo...might also miss my job if it's gone after the paint schemes change ha ha

par8head 10-30-2008 02:51 PM

what is the reason for:
Comair & Mesaba being wholly-owned as well as NWA being wholly owned and yet NWA can merge lists with Delta but Mesaba and Comair are left on the sidelines....

My question is? what is the difference in the acquisitions of Mesaba and Comair as opposed to NWA that would allow for this?

LOA 19.;) Scope was eased in the Delta pilot's contract to specifically allow NWA to be operated as a subsidiary until they transition to a SOC.
