Didn't we see this whole scenario for Comair this summer? Massive hiring, rumors, announcements forthcoming that never happened, eventually an official awarding of the 900s and then BAM! it all went bye-bye and Comair furloughed. I'm just saying!

Yea, it's the new staffing model at the regionals during a recession/merger. Make up a reason to hire a bunch of pilots. Find guys with very little to no 121 time that don't qualify for 135. Hire them, train them, furlough them until we need them. Nobody else is hiring; they're not going anywhere.

What's it matter if there isn't? What's so "magical" to you about a simple press release or internal memo to employees or that it's out in a timeframe YOU see fit? Doesn't change a thing. Still hiring, still buying a ton of training manuals, still shipping people to the Denver sim and Montreal sim because of overload and still getting more flying.

No, he's not being anti-rumor. There's enough out there to squelch rumor issues. Just because he's not "privy" to seeing all the changes those currently at XJ see is not enough to keep exhausting the tired "rumor" trail. Seriously, go ask those in the new hire thread about the answers they heard while they were interviewed.

I don't know how many times it can be said, exact language needed to be used, etc. it will take for some of the ridiculously hard headed to tell the difference.

One person saying, "We're getting 100 airplanes based on nothing!".......rumor.

Airlines don't put into motion everything we have including hiring just to hire to have a massive excess in payroll in "hopes" to have flying added. It doesn't happen.

Comair's issue wasn't even a rumor. It was bad timing for an airline that, ulimately, didn't meet the needs of the owner of the flying.

I understand turning an ear to obvious rumor but this is 100% the opposite. Not "believing" it is just showing ignorance, not WANTING to believe it or simply just being an A$$.
