i said its possible. every year in your recurrent sim dont you have some off-the-wall crazy scenario? why do you think that is? because it can happen. we (as pilots) are EXPECTED to handle any emergency onboard the a/c and do so promptly, effectively, and precisely. if not...we are banned from flying by the faa, thrown in jail by the local jurisdiction, ridiculed by the media, spit on by the public, and sued by the victims. all that for poverty level income.

i have said time and time again since airlines are all about the "surcharges" they should add a pilot surcharge on the ticket. would you feel better buying a ticket that had a 1.00 dollar pilot surcharge or 5.00 pilot surcharge? i would imagine most would go for the 5.00 dollar one. think about it. 5 bucks times 100. thats 500 bones. no need to blame the pilot now for the reason an airline isnt surviving. only a single dollar surcharge would go a long way. i have only heard people say that they want their pilots well paid and rested. it isnt asking alot and it can do alot for all of us. i myself have kids and even on mainline pay i am hurting.
