The only good thing I remember about Atlanta is Thai Chili. And maybe the MARTA.

I don't buy this. Someone mentioned ratios? Ok, let's talk ratios. November 20th, month to day flights for EV is 15,935 with 151 airplanes ( I think there are only 2 ATRs left). That is 106 flights per airplane and 797 flights per day. Our Completion is 99.3, A-14 is 76.8, and D-0 is 69.7.

November 20th month to day flights for the DAL side of 9E is 1540 with 12 airplanes (according to DeltaNet, if there are more or less please correct me). That is 128 flights per airplane and 77 flights per day. 9E Completion is 98.3, A-14 is 74.8, and D-0 is 64.7.

This data does not take into account Wx or Maint delays. There are the numbers, you guys decide...

A follow up post to compare 9E to S5 who only has about a hundred more flights so far this month and 16 airplanes. Their numbers are 99.2, 82.8, and 78.6.

I chose S5 because they are similar to 9E in size and flight numbers.

A follow up post to a follow up. Before all you blood suckers freak out about how much spare time I have and how irrelevant all this is, consider the fact that I am in FLO for 17 more hours and it is either this or work on Elasticity in Microeconomics. I HATE econ...

If i operate 800 flights a day....more workload....more potential for lesser performance.

"Welcome to Atlanta, the world's busiest airport....where everyday is a opening day.."- if you dont know what that is...you soon will

Well, on the flip side, if you were a carrier and operated one flight a day and went out late, guess what, your ontime performance is 0%. Yet if you operate 800 flights, you could have 200 late flights and still be at 75%.

Confused 11-23-2008 06:30 PM

And on that not about 800 flights its a lot more of an accomplishment to keep 140 + jets running over 80 % on time vs. keeping 16 jets on time and EV numbers are usually a little bit stronger in addition to that.

I know the numbers hurt for 1 more late for you guys with fewer flights but to keep 800 flights in the 80's and 90's for A-14 with many days at 0 cancels is pretty impressive.

Also... there was a post in this thread pretty far back about their crew room being too far away (9e), ours is literally right next door. At least you guys get SIDA badges. Know what we get at RAH???? "Just get the gate agent to let you through. And if you get the fine from TSA for being unescorted in a secure area...we suggest you pay it."

ThunderChicken 11-23-2008 07:15 PM

I know 9E's crew room is over on D, big deal to go 2 or 3 concourses on the train. I go from C to the remote pads at E from time to time and occasionally to A. I didn't know you guys at S5 don't get SIDA badges, that sucks. Where do you guys park at? You have to go through security just to get to work in domicile? Man alive, sounds crummy.

Confused 11-23-2008 07:50 PM

Yah ASA is all over the airport but we dont say that walking 3000 feet from D to A is gonna make a flight late.

Y'all don't have SIDA badges??? That's messed up... why not?
