Oh I know they have hired a few. What I described happened recently. As far as what's "in the works", I couldn't tell you. It's me speculating.

Hey Andy my suggestion to you about your interview on the 2nd, try to be less angry and antisocial. Read your posts man, why do you like taking cheap digs at people?. It will come out, so start "playing nice" now. Good luck with your interview.

When you say job offer... do you mean the conditional letter they give you after the HR interview? Because if you do, as I have repeatedly said, that doesn't mean jack******.

evilboy 11-25-2008 07:22 AM

That letter means squat. However, when they do the entire process -including drug test- and send you home telling you "pending background check and drug test results", job is "yours". I do have written confirmation that my background and drug test where no problem at all.
Anyhow, it is their choice. However, it is kind of dissapointing how it all came down. Btw, I'm not the only one this happened to.

Did they tell you why? I know a guy from Comair that will start class in Jan. I was going to apply today at Mesaba. I wonder what is going on.

First off: who told you that "job is yours"... i have a hard time believing that they actually said this. Just because they sent you to do a drug test and did the background checks on you doesn't mean you should assume you had the job. Second: If they did say this to you directly, as in an HR rep came up to you and said "we're going to hire you if you pass these two conditons" and you have written proof of your background check and drug test, I recommend you hire a lawyer immediately, because you may actually have a case.

evilboy 11-25-2008 07:37 AM

I'm not hiring a lawyer. I'm done with Mesaba. As far as me having a case, that's exactly what ALPA said, and they didn't like it either. Now, if they want to "follow up" within their MECs -like they suggested- that's their problem. I have moved on. All I was trying to do here is tell people what happened to me and a few others. Use it any way you want.
