What a joke the schedules are for December.
I love how the company gives a week of standups in order to lower the credit per line. Take a 90 hour line, replace a week of it with a week of standups and watch it become a 74 hour line. I also love these days with one flight on it. It is really worth going into work to fly 1 leg for 1.1 credit...wow $20 net for the day...I could make more with a lemonade stand. Anyone who is ok with this type of treatment is a moron. How can all these anti union guys be ok with this type of stuff...how!! |
Sorry for the misspelling of sauna ... sheesh, i'd be up since 2am, lol ... glad you read the rest of the message though! I'll be up in CHO the first week of Dec to start flying there! At least the lines there are better than IAH ... but it sucks they're all day trips ... no perdiem
Well, guys ... bottom line ... are you happy with the way the schedules are turning out?!?! They've been going downhill for the past 3-4 months ... even if we are losing flying, there should be GREAT lines for the senior guys ... decent lines for the middle of the pack guys ... crap lines for the junior guys ... and reserve lines for the bottom of the barrel guys!! EVERYONE I have talked to in IAH (including the junior guys) feel the same way.. |
For those who have not had the pleasure of flying a saab in the summer, we have no apu and it is not uncommon to push off the gate in IAH with a cabin temp of 35c. On the CLL and BPT turns you are probably looking at a 20 min or so taxi for a 10 min flight below 5000 ft meaning you will never be able to cool the cabin off and then find out that the out stations air cart is not working. After repeating the process several times on an 8 leg day I adopted a stratagy. I would take towels from the hotel on the ron and wet them down and put them on me during the work day to help cool off then trade the towels in for fresh ones at the next hotel on the next ron. It was a lovely experience, I am paid a measly 26$ an hour to do this, our passengers actually pay to endure this sh***

Funny how after starting this thread we received a current seniority list (without CA and FO designation or airframe), bid awards, and another message from Colgan explaining to the pilots how good we have it!
It's time I thank management for finally fixing the important issues like the uniform allowance, airport parking, and commuter policy which Mr. Casey is so proud of. I want you all to consider the following: Remember your uniform bill in initial training? Does $200 even come close? I figure you'll be even in 3 years? Does $30/month actually pay for your home airport parking? Have any of you tried to use the "two strikes and your out" commuter policy? Might as well not have one! Could the years it took negotiating these issues have been better used on the important issues like pay, schedules, duty/trip regs, consitency etc. that effect your QOL? Was the plan to work on issues that really matter "later"? Was it about fixing the problems that the pilots have continually expressed "next year"? Do you agree that by working with the pilot group on such petty issues that management is in fact validating the notion that they do not treat their pilots well? When pilots are awarded certain things based on qol issues that are standard across 99% of other airlines, do we all agree that things must have been subpar before? We have such a long way to go! Think about it. Thank you to the Colgan pilots for your support as well as the support from around the industry! |

yeah i saw those; but she also put up all the pro stuff to, which I think is fair. I think most of the fo's maybe with one exception will vote for it, and i def know of one capt who is totally agaisnt it. but i think the union will get the majority of the cho vote
|
actually do think of it i dont know if she actually threw that stuff away i know one Ca here who is totally anti union and has written a lot of stuff on the board so maybe it was him, it probably was PZ; ur right

If the voting instructions put out by the NMB are not being displayed, the lead Captain down there is breaking the law.
|
i quote a captain from work who hit it on the head
"if the pilots here had the GROSS NEGLIGENCE that management and dispatchers had, the airline who not run or exist. If they make any mistake like pay credits or providing a hotel to a crew stuck out at 3am, its just another memo or quick fix with no apology, where if we did one fraction of that we would be fired on the spot" perfect description of how it is. |
When are we supposed to get the info to vote?
