It's nice to see all the support, whether it be on the forums, in ops or just walking through the terminal. I'm all for the pins!!!

I'm not sure how many times we can all read about the "merged seniority list" and the Q400. Is this the best they could do? How about a new arguement? How about some specifics- please tell us what we can expect from management in 2009, beyond? There has not been an email so far with any promises to the pilots! It starts at the top, which has done nothing impressive yet! They have proven you do not need to actually be good at your job to work in Manassas, especially if your last name starts with a C. Nothing will change without new faces in the positions that so effect us, the pilots. Representation is your protection! I ask you to reread the first post of this thread and the other quality posts after reading the anti-union messages from those who have shown they are not ready to make the changes that would benefit you!

I don't even bother reading the emails anymore from Buddy/Harry/etc. I just don't care. They are going to tell you anything they can to make it sound like it's a bad idea to vote in a union. But, it would certainly be nice if they came up with a new argument other than the same old "The Pinnacle pilots want your flying!". I could understand how that might be a valid argument if we were actually getting flight time with the lines the way they are  ...

I have absolutely no problem with getting on Dispatch/Scheduling's good side. If you need help every once in a while it never hurts to make some friends were that help can be obtained. There's nothing wrong with working the system every now and then.

Can't you forward their messages back to them with something like "This message has been removed due to high B.S. content."

There are only two crew schedulers who use words like Please and Thank You. When those two call me, I am far more willing to help them out.... and they are willing to work with me. But I DO NOT request anything that would buddy ****** my fellow pilots. And I DO NOT believe I am sucking up to them: they are asking a favor and trading me something in return.

I am not a company man, but I understand when the weather or mx throws crews to the four winds, I may have to work on my day off. Recently, I was ASKED (by one of the two) to be junior manned even though there was a man junior to me available. The flight was a repo of a plane out of heavy check with a green captain going from and to airports he was unfamiliar with. He was to be paired with an FO just off of IOE. When ASKED if I would do the flight, I accepted because I felt the circumstances REQUIRED an experienced FO. (No disrespect to the guy I replaced: I just know I would be much better in an emergency now, than I was right off IOE.) I didn't do it to curry favors, nor did I do it for the company: I did it for the captain and, to a lessor degree, for the FO I was replacing.

I am NOT a company man. Nor am I a pilot man. I am just a guy who wants to see flights completed in a Safe, Legal, and Prudent manor. I DON'T want or expect any special treatment. I just want to be paid for my work, and if I go above and beyond a "thank you" would be nice.

((I am not suggesting the poster was advocating sucking up. I am just infuriated when people who have Dot on thier speed dial get anything they want no matter how it sc*ws other pilots.))

What's your opinion of this anti-union reprieve from management?

You know ... that's a good point ... I haven't gotten one of those annoying emails from management in a while ... I've gotten more stuff from the ALPA committee than I have anti-union management stuff ... weird ... not quite sure what to make of that...
