Mesaba ATL Rumor

Anyone heard Mesaba opening a 9 and Saab base in ATL? I was told bidding will start Jan 1 2009?

Anyone know how many spots there will be? I'm tempted to turn in my stuff if they are going to have a ATL base.

Straight from mike's mouth in DTW, there will be no ATL base for several months. Initially it will just be bridge trips to ATL. Eventually I think it wouldnt make sense to not have an ATL base though.

Oh and by the way as the last post implied, we fly the 900 not the 9.

Do you think they would put me in the 9 being that I have jet time? The Saab is more a girls plane i think.

I'll prolly get hated on for saying that but. Its like comparing a Ferrari to a Geo Metro. Of course we would all want to drive the Ferrari.

I'd say more like a VW bus compared to a minivan. Neither of them are glamorous that glamorous but at least with the VW you can tell "I remember when" stories to the kids when you grow up a little.

And a CRJ-900 is not a Ferrari. Its like a V6 accord...Practical and a little faster than some of the other cars in the Target parking lot but it still aint gonna get ya a number at the bar. Its still an RJ.

Two flame bait posts. Give it up. And BTW, I'd venture to say you couldn't even hack it in a SAAB. Also, it's a 900, not a 9. It's not even close to the quality of the Diesel 9.

SeeYouNextTime 11-26-2008 12:37 PM

Why couldn't i hack it in the Saab? I'd much rather fly on a Diesel 9 than a 75. 75's are not comfy at all.

So no ATL base for a while?

If it were up to me I would ask for the Saab instead. There isn't anything special about the Canadian space shuttle

I 2nd that :D

Don't be disrespecting the Canadian space shuttle, or we'll be forced to invade Michigan and take all of your decent hockey players!

Having flown the CRJ, I'd imagine the Saab program would be every bit as difficult as the jet. That being said, I think more people should get turboprop time.
