I CFIed for 5 months, left with 580 hours and was hired by a foreign carrier to fly E190s, I am still in training so I am not counting my blessings yet! But God first I will be flying in January!. I was extremely luck to have dual residency though, I was hired in September.

I thought about getting my CFI but when I got the call from XJ I figured that was gonna be the quickest way to pay all my student loans off cuz it paid pretty good and was a gauranteed paycheck unlike instructing which some of my friends had to do and they said it sucked because the weather was bad all the time and they couldn't fly.

Are they still hiring? Do you have to be a resident of this other country? I am willing to go overseas...

i instructed for a year and a half then went off and now i'm at american eagle...

i really want to get back to instructing just so i can get up in an airplane...

people bash on regional airline first year pay but i cannot justify going back to flight instructing b/c of the pay cut...

to make instructing what i make at eagle on reserve would require me to do like 36 billable hours a week...and then i still have no health insurance...with new england winters it is hard to keep those hours up....

i really miss teaching though...if you enjoy it you def stay sharp and learn alot...i feel like since i left training at eagle i've learned a lot on the line but lost a lot of the technical knowledge...but thats my own fault...

Nope, no sarcasm whatsoever buddy. I meant everything I said, seriously. I don't know why it's flamebait to tell someone where I went to school. I only see you and one other person out of 45 others on this thread having any kind of issue with it.

Ahhh. There's a lot of folks that don't like the ideal of buying a job through MAPD, or putting 300 hour pilots in the right seat of a jet. Speaking for myself, I've said it so many times in the past, it's just not something I bring up a whole lot.

I never was a CFI, I kind of wish I had been sometimes just for the experience. I worked at a maintenance shop at a local FBO and I built my time ferrying airplanes and doing maintenance flights, etc. I got to fly a heck of a lot of different types of airplanes, which was a good experience within itself.

...or the idea of furloughing pilots at one airline while hiring pilots to the alter-ego side of the same airline, such as TSA vs. Gojet. The idea being "buying a job" while using the careers of other pilots as a down payment...

Different issue similar mentality; had to point it out since most Gojet threads get locked down very prompto...

I know, if I have an issue with thread moderation I should contact the owners of this website, etc, etc... ;)

Threads get locked for TOS violations. Not seeing that here. But if you'd like to start a Gojet thread, knock yourself out. We'll do our best to keep it open.

"if I have an issue with thread moderation I should contact the owners of this website"

No, you should contact the admins, that's HSLD or Freight Dog. They don't "own" the site anymore.
