This is purely my own opinion
I just wanted to take time to question management and thier claims that we will be recieving 15 more Q400's in early 2010.
- If we are why havent there been any official announcements made to the public other than the anti alpa propaganda that the company sends around to us.
-Continental just released a revised copy of thier fleet for the upcoming years and no mention of any additional Q400's can be seen.
-Pinnacle (the company we really work for) has stated that there will be no more purchases till a code share has been announced (which there hasnt).
-There are no new hire Q400 classes expect the rumors of hiring to begin.
-Every few months we hear of a rumor about more planes that never seems to go anywhere.
Now i do hope that we recieve new planes down the road but i am beginning to feel that the supposed "15 more Q's" and going to be used against us if/when the alpa vote is passed. I do hope i am wrong but I just find it very odd that there is no announcement by any major carrier, maybe we will pull an expressjet and operate the Q's for oursleves.

(Idea!) why don’t you guys order them pay for them, then have the shipping address changed to PDT…. that’s the only way we will ever see new planes. Oh and if you could throw in free differences training that would be great as well.
Keep the hopes up, and good luck.

There was a press release a while back that the order was confirmed in order to protect delivery positions ... they hope to secure a contract with someone prior taking the first delivery in about June 2010 ... I heard rumors of United out of DEN

FACT- PNCL Corp converted the options and cancelable order for 30 additional Q400 aircraft into options and cancelable orders for the next-generation cabin configuration version of the Q400 aircraft
FACT- "This next generation cabin configuration will not be available until 2010, and we have deferred the delivery dates for our 30 options and cancelable orders to take place between May 2010 and November 2011. The exercise dates for the options and cancelable orders begin in December 2008" From the 10Q report 2nd quarter
Pinnacle Corp has exercised options for this first group of 10 additional next gen Q's...which means they want them, they need to secure financing .
Terenary recently said "the company wants to take advantage of delivery slots starting in 2010 and feels the aircraft will make economic sense. "We're talking to all of our airline partners about the Q400," he said. "Fifteen are reserved for Continental. The other 15 we can take anywhere we want." He stressed that placing the aircraft is a "goal" and that a definitive announcement will not come until "the customer says they'll take the airplanes."
There would be no training class setup for aircraft not set to be delivered for another 18 months.
Continental would not have the future Q delivery in their outlook fleet because they have not said they wanted them yet, although the next 15 are for them.
The fact is fuel will go back up in time and the Q will be a profitable airplane for that time, somebody will want them

It's not "SkyWest's territory". It's United's flying that they contract out to SkyWest to do as they are incapable of as a legacy carrier and not having the ability to serve with their fleet. Hence, having a regioanl/SJP do it for them.

Read the Pinnacle Corp 10Q for 3rd Quarter and all your answers are there. I laught when people spread rumors about the finances of a company when everything is available if you just take a minute to look.

15 of the 30 options are for them. Doesn't mean they get the next 15.

Posted on the Colgan jobs page for First Officer listing:
"Must be able and willing to relocate to assigned bases."
I'm a little confused, does that mean MOVE to base or just commute like everyone else?
