Default Furlough

Congratulations your out of a Job.
Personally I moved to a place I never wanted to even visit for this job and now am kinda stuck here till the furlough blows over. Not many jobs out there even those NOT in the aviation field, Unless you have a CDL.
What is everyone else doing to try to stay sane?
I have been playing some GTA4 online.

Look at companies like CSX. You could also drive a school bus, substitute teach, go back to school, install cabled, door to door sales for the cable company. Not fun work, but they are jobs. CSX is a really good gig if you don't mind working outside welding or driving a train.

Crappy industry to be in/out of right now. But, it'll turn around. It always does.

I tried Mesaba and got the thanks but no thanks letter. Two of my friends from my company got an interview and then got the thanks but no thanks. I am happy I got the no thanks letter instead of going all the way out to WI to hear them say I am not cool enough. Personally for me the time to head somewhere else is over. I am not that far down the list so I think I might see a recall this spring. I am just going to sit back and play some PS3.

while I have not been kicked to the curb yet there are only 22 below so I am planning just in case the new year brings bad news. I think I will probably try to get a railroad job if it does happen. Norfolk Southern, CSX, Union Pacific......they all pay well. I like working outside too.
