Yea I'd rather have my blood sweat and tears than money, but that's just me. I respect and support the milliary and everyone in it, but it is not for me. |
If it's a good FBO and you get to know the owner/instructors, it could work to your advantage. Good instructors are very often willing to help out up-and-coming professional pilots. I met a guy in one of my classes a couple years ago, and we ran into each other this semester. He told me to come out wo his flight school, where the planes are pretty cheap ($70 for a Cherokee 140) and he would give me dual for free. We've done 2 flights together so far, with more on the way.
Other things include getting slightly reduced rates and maybe even a flight where they "forget to bill you" once in a while. It depends alot on the FBO, the quaility of the instructors (the guy I mentioned above has an app in with XJet, and definently deserves the job), and also how much you stufy and dedicate yourself to becoming a professional. |

Believe me I have heard that 1000 times. I still plan on being a civilian pilot, and I am very passionate about it, so thanks for the advice.
