ASA Internship Interview
 

Hey everyone,
Got an interview for an ASA Internship this week. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Why ASA?
Do you mind working for free?

Seriously, good luck. An airline internship is a great thing to put on a resume and good experience for insight into the airline industry.

Just go in there and be yourself. That is what they are looking for - other then the answers to typical HR questions like captainkudzu listed. Just have fun with it.

I interviewed for the internship about 1 1/2 years ago. Questions were: Why ASA? Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer, and one other questions about myself. Then went over the resume. Lasted about 10 mins tops, very laid back. Got an email a few weeks later.

ASA does pay for the internship (5.15/hr) not much but better than nothing. When I was there, unlimited jumpseat on ASA and free travel on Delta.

Seriously though, good luck on the interview. Just be yourself, thats all anyone cares about. If you go in there pretending to be something your not they will see through it quickly. Worse than that, if you show up for "work" and you're a different person than they interviewed and you don't mesh well with the company...well that wouldn't be any fun. The only thing worse than not getting chosen for an internship is getting fired from one!:D

Yeah, sorry about that freezingflyboy, but the easiest thing to complain about here in ND is the cold. After all it is around for what, 8 months out of the year? I think the worst thing about any job would be for them to hire one "person" and have another "person" show up... then you get fired. Thanks for the advice guys!

I hear ya! I got out of ND as soon as I could and haven't looked back. Just as long as we can agree that my name is the cooler of the two;) Good luck.

Time spent doing a regional internship would probably be better spent working on ratings or as a CFI. Regionals will hire you without an internship or connections.

An internship at a major (that is hiring) might be another story...

An the ASA internship is a great idea beacuse you get paid, you get delta travel benifits, and most importantly you get free CRJ sim time. That you can't beat. The people who say internships are a waste of time most likely never did one and are now working for Mesa.

If you get a job as a PILOT at ASA you will get paid, delta travel benefits, and free CRJ sim time.

If you need CRJ sim time prior to new hire training in order to pass new hire training, you don't belong in the cockpit of an airliner in the first place.
