GA Skies Sucks

You guys were right and I should have listened

USMCFLYR 12-26-2008 09:44 PM

I just reviewed the old thread. Why don't you provide some details why you should have listened? Make an informative post.

For those of us local and on furlough watch, specifics would be nice. Does the schedule suck or is it MX or all of the above?

why is this in regional

They dont tell you your schedule until the night before. So like for example I was out one Monday night around 8 pm, called this 1-800 number to find out I had o be at work at 4 am. That in my view is not professional. This is not my first job. I have been a police officer, school teacher and other jobs. But this is soooo unprofessional its crazy. I am way too old for this kind of unprofessionalism.

Anyway, this has really made me wonder what I invested in and I really want to go back into law enforcement. i dont want to say too much more cause the powers that be may be monitoring this site.

Sorry to hear about GA Skies sucking it up so much. Come on over to Wings Air if you have your ATP or ATP mins.

BTW, what are y'alls takeoff mins?

It's like that at my job as well (not knowing my schedule until the night before), but let me tell you, it's a relief compared to what you'd see in other jobs. Being junior at most airlines you don't know your schedule until about 2 hours prior. Worse yet, I have a friend on a Beechjet at a charter department who doesn't even get hard days off; they'll call him the night before and tell him if he has a day off the next day. Can't plan a damn thing.

They cancel any flight that is not close to full and FIM the few pax all ready on board to other airlines. Standard "135" practice! No money to lose!

Being on the regional board gets the word out...
