BTW, maybe its because I'm exhausted. My father-in-law has been on life support for the past four days. I've had a combined 10 hours of sleep while trying to take of my wife's family. So excuse me if your ridiculous assertions are misunderstood by me. I've got bigger things on my plate right now.

So you're saying you have to pay $ to ride your own jumpseat????? Or just pay to get a non-rev seat in the back? Or both.

DAL4EVER -
If your father in law is on life support and you are trying to catch up on sleep and travel with your family, why are you bothering to argue on APC with JP about ASA pass benefits? Im sorry to hear about your situation, but come on. So if i understood the email today, we are now paying 211+ instead of the 50 to have the same pass benefits as before? Did anything else change that I am missing? |
I would give anything for those benefits over what we have right now at Continental. We have to pay $15 each way for myself, travel companion, and parents to fly. That one time fee over at Delta doesn't sound too bad at all. Want to switch? Not to mention our buddy passes are now up to $105 each way.
I'm guessing the one time fee, that Delta charges everyone, is to pay for the overhead of the pass travel department. Basically, those that use it, will fund it? Should be free, but $200, for the family, for the whole year isn't that bad. |
beat you to it man but at least im not the only one thinking that

What's unfair is that they're only charging these exorbitant fees to the Connection employees. Even if we only on fly our own airplanes.
The only difference I see with us, is our DOH is the same for Continental and ExpressJet employees. So I travel above anyone hired after my date, over at mainline. However, I wouldn't get preference over a senior person to me on one of our Jets. Can't have it both ways I guess. |
and I am in no way siding with delta on this, but unless your family does a decent amount of traveling and is really really flexible with their schedules the pass benefits are a waste. With the majority of routes being full or close to full, even at our 50 bucks its near impossible to get pprs on an airplane unless you can leave at 5am on a tuesday.
For the X amount a buddy pass or travel companion would pay, its almost not worth the aggravation and buy an airtran or southwest ticket |
