back on topic. Be careful jumpseating on TSA. God forbid you get smoke in the cabin while "on the ground" and the captain deploys the oxygen masks :)

???

W-T-F does that incident have ANYTHING to do with jumpseating on TSA? And that fine wasn't just to TSA.

BTW, don't worry about getting bumped...unless the wx is horrendous and they've maxed out the fuel load, the UAX birds (all LR's -- the EP's only fly for Airways) can take off with a jumpseater up front.

Thanks, everyone, for the replies.

That's what I'd like to wear (khaki/polo). Just wanted to make sure that it was acceptable. I don't wear the uniform just to get through security easier. I've been flying on paid commercial tickets four or five times per month for the past three years so I'm used to going through the TSA checkpoints in civilian clothes. It's usually pretty quick in BNA.

Now, I assume your flight is on TSA and not Gojet?
It's TSA. Both TSA and Skywest have flights for UX on the route but the TSA flights are at the times I need. I didn't see any flights operated by GoJet.

Which airline do you work for? Big Brown here, live in the Boro.
ABX, in Hermitage.

I've been out of the regional world for almost 13 years but, from reading the boards, I got the impression that a GoJet pilot would not be welcome on a TSA jumpseat?

Does he need one of those new UX jumpseat forms?

Don't know anything about jumpseat forms. Is that something I can get at the gate?

Thursday, the 22nd, is the plan. 7914/7904. Y was booked to 22 and 32 as of last night.

Thanks again...

O2

If they did not want you to ride the jump seat, they would pull the old low O2 trick on you anyway.

I too have been out of the regional world for a while but when it comes to the Gojet issue TSA pilots don't have a choice since technically it's the same yet separate airline... :(

Each airline has their own jumpseat form, ask at the gate or at the ticket counter they'll give you one... Just fill it out and hand it back to them, that's all there's to it...

Take care...

It is not concern to me what you do or not do. TSA for the most part has different policies for different regions throughout the country. I was talking to a regional TSA supervisor at DAL a few months back when they told me they required a boarding pass to pass through security, even if I am jumpseating. He told me of the changing out of uniform policy at that time. So I do not know if it is a Texas region thing or what. The problem is if the TSA busts you on something and threatens to fine you, you get to fight it.

Perfect example is TSA tried to fine a Colgan CA $10,000 and Colgan $25,000 when he did not clear security at an outstation for a deadhead back to Houston. He flew 5 legs that day and the last leg back to IAH was a deadhead, so he just took a seat in the back and had a gate agent give him his ticket. TSA was notified that he did not leave the plane and clear security and it was a huge ordeal. The ended up dropping it because they called is a "gray area." So if you change out of your uniform, go for it, hope you dont get caught in a "gray area."
