I was thinking that too. They're using sonar and dredging the river looking for a large hunk of metal. Wonder how much junk they're gonna have to sort through until they find the engine.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode.
Young boy: Hey, there's a man swimming in the water.
Father: No that's probably a dead body son. You see when the mob kills someone they throw the body in the river.

Jerry: How could you swim in that water?
Kramer: I saw a couple other guys out there.
Jerry: Swimming!?
Kramer: Well floating. They weren't moving much...but they were out there!

I had to deadhead into DCA last night on AWAC. I was hoping we wouldn't land on 33, but of course we did. I was asleep until the gear came down (which always scares me - why does it sound like something is falling off?). When I opened my eyes, all the passengers around me were alternating between staring at me and looking outside at the Potomac, which was quickly coming closer. I just went back to sleep.

The sound of the gear coming down scares you hmmm...

I think the only thing that sounds better is my other half calling me daddy:D

LMAO...actually he has a point. Sitting in the cabin of a CR2 anywhere near the main gear makes for a rude-awakening if one is asleep for sure...

Starlings are all over the area

There Swarmin' all over the NY, NJ CT coastal waters area every winter, You hear it practically every day on all the ATIS reports "notams..... be advised.... use caution..... birds in an around the vicinity of the airport......",they are, for the most part, always starling swarms.

lol, I deadheaded today and just fell asleep. I hate wearing my uniform when in the cabin but I had no choice. I wanted to avoid as much of the quizzing as possible. I could already imagine the questions, "Do they teach you how to ditch an airplane?" "Are you a co-pilot?" ....... and the typical questions, "must be good to travel for free, AINT it?" Luckily, no one talked to me today. :D

All I've heard is what is the Airport Code for the River and can we expect ferry service to include dividend Miles.
