Default Good hotels for the Memphis based

I'll be based in Memphis (Mesaba) in a little while and am trying to figure out if I'll be staying in a crashpad or hotel.

Does anyone know of any decent hotels in Memphis that offer good deals to crews. I know there are a few few hotels in DTW that charge crews less than $40 and so as a lineholder only needing to stay a few days a month it's pretty tolerable. I'll hold a line and probably need to stay 4-5 nights a month.

Stay at the Memphis Airport Radisson, probably the easiest (and safest) close by. Stayed there as a crashpad for a month with some other Mesaba guys, think it was $62/night.

You really can't put "good" and "Memphis" in the same sentence. I'm still amazed that some people choose to live there.

I couldn't have said it better myself, and I actually live there

Desoto County, MS has some good hotels in good locations close to the Airport (15-20mins). Very safe, close to good restaurants and shopping. Don't know about cost, but you could probably work something out in this economy. And areas around Memphis can be quite nice and there's plenty to do. If you stray off the beaten path a lot/hit the clubs quite a bit, you may want to consider packing.

Look for a FDX crashpad. If you need some refs drop me a PM and I will get you some phone numbers. Many guys have houses or nice apartments within 15-20 mins and charge $150-300 a month for everything (meaning cable, internet, utils) and most are set up nicely. If you don't have a car you would need to stick with the radisson- kinda depends on how long you are looking for a crashpad, how often you would use it, and if you already have an airport car.

No such thing in Memphis. Don't expect anything done fast either.

Avoid the hotels on Nonconnah Blvd. None of them are nice.

Yeah, if you want close to the airport the raddison would be your best bet. I would call the hotels in Deseto MS and see if they have a shuttle. You don't wanna stay in Memphis unless you wanna get mugged.
