A positive new day

Good day post eh?
Well despite myself and 7 other pilots being terminated without cause yesterday, we all got together and made bonds of friendship stronger than any I have ever known.
Plus I've got scotch. Scotchy, scotch, scotch.

I went to the FBR open in PHX (Golf Tournament) and had one of the best time in years at any sporting event. Cheers to the USair pilots (EAST by the way) that made my experience in jumpseat as good as it was. I highly recommend this tournament to anyone, the 16th hole is completelty worth it...

No matter what happens in our personal or professional lives I always feel good knowing that someone/thing made this amazing playground we call earth for us and we will always have our little sand box to play in... I taught my 23 mo old to recognize the written word "Hi" today.

Thank you all that posted and for those that let this thread die. It just reaffirmed my knowledge that all of us are a whiny group of underachievers who expect the over achiever benefits, that all we can do is complain but do nothing about it, because we lack the talent to do anything about it. "I fly an airplane" I know that is what you will say, good for you, so can I, and that is something positive and congratulations, you do something that a whole lot of people cant do, and a whole lot of people wish they could do. And you get paid for it also, and if you dont like it, quit, or else shut up seriously, or furlough yourself, or once again shut up.

My new road bike comes in this morning.
I'm down to 240 from 310 lbs since September. (Went from having a gut overhang to slight love handles.... don't ask about the stretch marks)
I'm making good headway toward a CFI job out here finally.
I have a coffee date with an awesome woman this afternoon.
I didn't watch the superbowl for the first time in my life.
I finally perfected "Castles made of sand" on the guitar, with vocals.
My tax return paid my medical bills and credit card bills.
Its going to be 75 degrees and clear today.
All in all being furloughed doesn't suck right now.

Not gonna touch this one ... No No No ...
Lowlevel:
Only adult fish count, you know. Let us know when you catch the hammerhead. Pictures, please. If he gets you instead, give him the camera and your web login ...
Good news is I think I've figured out what's screwing up my back, and I also think I can fix it!

to continue my furlough goal of catching one of every fish in the Gulf of Mexico ... Two more down on the list of fish to catch!

With all the nastyness happening in some of the other threads, it is time to revive this one!.
My positive thought today;
Lost 5 lbs, getting the excercise routing going again, eating habits are getting better, and overall having a good time in this furlough situation.

It's nice to see things thats are positive these days with everything going bad... For me I'm trying to turn my furlough into something positive. I quit smoking almost 2 months ago, I now work out and bike an average of 60-70 miles as week and am trying to get back in good shape. So far I've lost 20 pounds and am getting back some lung capacity. There is always a silver lining do bad times, you just need to find it. Cheers to all of you with the good news.
