Even though I found out about PDT's current hiring state last week, this week has been surprisingly good-
Sent another student for an instrument rating: he passed!
Went for an MEI cert: I passed!
Had midterms for master's degree: I passed!
And...have my first helicopter intro lesson tomorrow!

Let's keep this thread going- we all need to hear each other's good news in today's climate.

Although I was laid off from my salaried position a few months ago, I'm sitting in beautiful Monterey, California right now getting paid to fly for a couple of days as a contract pilot

My wife and I snapped up a ridiculously cheap Hawaii travel package recently and we're leaving next week.

This thread is still alive.

Unusually warm couple days in North Texas so I'm hooking up the boat and going fishing tomorrow. Life's pretty good.

Hey, thanks SayAgain for reviving this thread.

Start a new job tomorrow monday. Nothing glamourus -bartending-, but gets my out of the house and puts a few bucks in my pocket. Besides, learned on saturday I have a very good chance at flying a corporate gig starting late march early april.
Good news indeed!.

It's still cheaper than a couple of new car payments. Drive it 'till it won't go no more!

True that! I'm still driving my '96 Chevy Blazer ... 13 years old and still running strong!!!

Absolutely love skiing ... just found out yesterday that there is a ski resort about 45 min from where I live. I just about kicked myself in the shin when I realized I had been here 3 months and hadn't figured that out yet!!

I woke up with the same woman next to me. Does that count?

Well, if you're in a relationship, I would sure as hell hope so ... if you picked her up at a bar, it depends on whether she was too drunk to leave early, or she was actually interested in staying. I would say cheers to ya!

yes it does!

Got displaced, then in the last week, got a furlough notice, got laid off from my 2 year relationship (over facebook...and i dont even have facebook, heard through friends before she told me), got sick on a trip and had to spend 24 in TUL, basically my life just crumbled.

HOWEVER, doing my best to see that it'll get put back together better than it was and best of all...

....there's nothing keeping me in St. Louis anymore! I'm outtie!

Ok, you know what ... that just flat out blows. Keep that head held high, and move forward :) As much as things suck sometimes, life goes on!

Taught a student to land in a crosswind today. Pretty priceless by the time they can finally land on one wheel, on the centerline, and keep it there for a few seconds.

Haha, thanks for that. Unfortunately, 2 ran out of money and can't get loans. So I am down to 2. :(
