You can take a high speed (~100mph?) train from Dublin to Limerick Ireland (west coast) for 15 euro if you book your ticket online. There are trains every couple of hours and Heuston station is close to Temple Bar and easy to get to by light rail.

If you do go to Dublin Diver Driver is right stay near the Temple Bar area, it's where a bunch of good bars are. If you want to do the Guiness tour go to their website and pay online, it saves you a couple Euro and you get to skip the Q. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay there are a few hostels near the factory although it would e a 15 min walk to Temple Bar. If you want details on anything feel free to PM me, I have been many times and have friends who live there.

sometime in the next 5-6 weeks, planning to spend maybe five days there. I've been before, but its been a while and I was actually poorer then than I am now!
i.e. I'll need to be stingy, just not as stingy.

Mofongo is pretty good. Mojitos, I hate, though.

You cannot beat Honolulu. There is plenty of service, you can ride the bus to the Waikiki hotel district for $2, hotels are plentiful, many under $100 per night. There are a zillion bars and restaurants, all within walking distance. Best of all, you use the same money, there are no customs inspections, you can read and speak the language, and it does not cost you $100 in customs fees and departure taxes. Oh, did I mention perfect weather and girls in bikinis?

I used to have a buddy that lived there. I spent 2 weeks there back while instructing at Delta Connection Academy. Great place! Snorkeling and scuba were fantastic also.

look on perx.com and find a good deal.......but I'd say it really depends on the benefits you have, how many non airline employees are going wit you and where you are at. Like American, you have to expect to go through DFW, ORD, JFK, and LAX to go any where out of the country. if you connect to one of those cities with a D1 (vacation pass) then you are ahead of the pack and almost guaranteed a flight also in first. right now the loads look good but they are also packed with nonrevs. I have heard Belize is good and cheap. good luck and use your benefits!
