Hey, anybody heard what is going on XJT with the CAL sending the 69 planes to CHQ? Are they going to continue to hire? Furlough? Just curious, applied a few months ago never heard anything, usually get the nice postcard that says try again later but this time nothing.

Right now we are stilling hiring at Express. I heard through July they are going to have classes. Always subject to change though. We are currently looking for flying with the 69 airplanes and lots of rumors to where that flying will be. I think whether we keep the planes or not CHQ will still come in and do flying for CAL. CAL really wants some one new in there doing some flying for them.

Or they just plan on replacing those routes with their 737s. I think they are just trying to reduce the number of regional jets in the system and open up more gates for the 737s. We shall see. I feel pretty confident that no one is going to lose a job because of this and the company should be alot better off after this whole thing plays out.

XJT made an announcement today - they won't be returning the 69 planes to CAL. I hope they are successful in utilizing these planes and keeping all of their employees employed. For once the management seems to have done the right thing. I am happy the planes didn't go to the lowest bidder. Good luck!

Any ideas what they'll do with the 69 a/c now? Can they seek deals with other legacy carriers or go um "Independent" with those jets?
