Anyone have any idea why they are suddenly upgrading??? 16 Vacancies for SA and RP. Interesting..........hmmmm maybe a new codeshare or something??? BB has something going on.
|
Didn't you hear?! The CRJs flying for CAL are going to be replaced with 170s! And there will be much rejoicing at Chapublica.;)

How about posting on one of the company forums rather than here?
We all know where this will be going. Apparently we're the new mesa but we somehow get paid better and have better work rules flying the same size aircraft on a contract that was ratified years ago. |

LoL I would call an upgrade in the order of the 15 folks or so to be that of attrition, not a new codeshare ;)

You're absolutely right, as well as putting Midwest pilots on the street and undercutting other pilot groups for jobs.

I'd trade you my job anyday. Try working 100 hours a month with 10 days off for dog crap pay. 14 hour duty days, 8 legs, minimum rest overnight. You guys don't know how good you have it.
Hmmm, how does that saying go? Something about a glass house. |
Your point is?
My Jet Blue post has no relation to the subject of this post. |
TP..YOUR post has nothing to do with the subject of this thread either.

I've gotta say, its kind of funny seeing a PSA FO lecturing RAH employees about "undercutting other pilots for jobs"...especially considering the circumstances of how PSA came into all those CRJs in the first place.
Righteous indignation from any one regional pilot toward any other regional pilot is ironically silly at best and downright stupid at worst. |

As an professional pilot you're living in the same house. |
It's not upgrades, just captain movement from the CRJ going away. Stop looking for excuses to bash RAH and grow up people.

i think it is so entertaining to listen to people that haven't been in the industry but maybe a year or two. how they go from board to board to rant, speculate, criticize, self gloat, and etc. Frankly no group is better than the other. Places change from day to day. Every regional is guilty, management that is, of undercutting each other. It is business. No body owns flying. So when someone says "taking out flying" please. Every holds the route owns the flying and they decide what aircraft ... to put on that route. Get over it. I am almost to the point to delete this because it is pointless. Like I have told many people that I work with that speculate, worry and try to figure it out...YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME. You guys and gals are driving yourself crazy. Just relax and let **** happen. Go back to having fun. Go back to enjoy what you do. Stop being ****ed at each other. Stop praying Mesa will die. It is almost like an adlib. Insert Mesa, Comair, RAH, Compass, Colgan, and etc. I worked at Colgan for almost 2 years and the company sucked but the people I flew with are great. I am sure the same is everywhere minus the few bad apples. Just be a pilot. You never know what tomorrow brings. Don't burn bridges because you will be shocked when you see that company management person, chief pilot and on and on again. |

How could you people sign a contract with a 3-20 year scale of $37/hr and no rigs on equipment that replaces 737/DC-9s ???? Did you honestly think that 9 month upgrades were going to continue? |

We're in contract negotiations right now and not a happy pilot group. Our contract isn't bad but there's always room for improvement. The company is making money, they can pay us more.
Trust me, I'd much rather be flying a plane that doesn't say "express" or "connection" on the side but about 15 years ago mainline decided they were too good to fly the "little" jets and the senior guys kept selling the junior guys down the river to protect their pay by giving up scope. We're not stealing flying, you're giving it away. |

That's a pretty ignorant comment as we are in contract negotiations as we speak. You guys have a right to be angry, but direct your anger somewhere else. |

Ah yes, another prime example of intelligence. What idiot started this thread anyway?! |

At least get educated...as others have said the guys and gals at RAH are IN contract negotiations ...have been for some 17 months. Further, I dont have an old seniority list in front of me from my short time there, but I would venture to say that probably 80% maybe a number as high as 85% of the pilots currently at RAH were NOT even there when the last CBA was signed. If my friends at RAH sign a BS agreement somewhere down the road....bash them THEN. However, to say they are not willing to address the compensation issue when nothing has been signed is just flamebait. Note: RAH current contract was signed in 2003... SIX years ago.

The posters here that don't think it's so bad think that because they look at others around them. They also look at the time that it was being negoatiated and the circumstances around that. They successfully dodged a whipsaw attempt by merging multiple seniority lists as well as got rid of junior manning and setup some pretty strong language about mergers and acquisitions of other companies. Considering it was post 9/11 I'd say these guys did a damn good job.

SA? who is that.. do you mean S5? I do know there is a group of "original shuttle" pilots who did get screwed during the integration. Some of those guys lost effectively 2 years seniority. With the way the list is now... thats probably less than 100 numbers. Cant speak to that, Wasnt around then. RAH's 2003 contract is certainly no barn burner but it is also not bottom of the barrel. As for you E120 FO's making making more than that in 1984.... I would love to see those pay scales. On a personal note I made 13.50 an hour if I remember correctly in 1992 to Fly ATR-42's for Flagship Airlines ( Nashville American Eagle )... and topped out at about 16 dollars an hour in my third year there.

I can't wait until RAH takes over the expressjet crew room in CLE. Please when you guys leave take those recliners with you so we can put some nicer ones in with the money we make off your flying. Say do you have cable hookup in there?

I'm not talking about where you sit or what you sit in.. I'm talking about taking a pass at XJT.

"What kind of post is this? You must be joking" didn't really point to what you were talking about. A little vague lol.
