Default "RHS" New ground handling...

So what does everyone think of the announcement that Mesaba, Compass, and Comair ground services are all merging under the one company; RHS?

It means that republic is buying all of you, the RH is code word for Republic Holdings, the S means "sucks for you"

It means that yes, this is the first step towards all three entities becoming one.

The next step will be to combine the work forces that are not on the front line, i.e. General Offices personnel.

That announcement will be made sometime prior to June, and implemented before years end. The corporate offices will all be in MSP. That will include the training for all three airlines.

Once that is taken care of, then it will be the unionized work groups, starting with maintenance. The last ones will be pilots and flight attendants. That won't be announced until Jan 2010, though not completed until 2nd quarter 2010.

Even though there will be no hubs for flying in CVG, it may still be a maint base for the RJ fleet.

It means the race to the bottom continues. They already have had RFP's on the stations that had overlapping regional service. The winners so far have been the lowest paid groups. Now that they've squeezed them down on costs they will merge them together and operate a bunch of stations with minimum wage employees that could care less if a plane ever gets anywhere on time.

Taking basically half of Comair's business and spinning it off into RHS, just another step closer to the doors closing or a merger. It's getting more and more obvious.

I won't hear any more of this Comair closing the doors nonsense.

If Delta planned on shutting down Comair, the first door you would see closed would be the doors at Concourse C.
