Well, not too long ago I believe one of the mods pulled a post that appeared to come from a reporter fishing for news... They are out there just like the rats are on every ship... :(
Again, I was wrong in this instance and apologized for it... oh im not trying to give you a hard time. I was just voicing my surprise that I completley missed the other side of the interpretation. thats the internet for you. |
Thank you Paxman. If had a dime for every person that said this.....well.......I would have a DIME. Thank you sir.

Hey guys, new here, I live in the area of the recent Flight 3407 crash. I have been reading your threads and posts on this tragedy the past couple days for a couple reasons, I wanted to get an experts take on the subject and I was interested in your response to the BullS media coverage it has been receiving.
I too would like to thank you all for the jobs you do.As pilots you have got to have the biggest shoulders in the world and I respect the jobs you do for what many people take for granted. Godspeed to you all and yours, again, Thank you!!!

"Damn guys that was bumpy as hell, but I guess the landing wasn't too bad" Me and the FO just kinda stared at each other not knowing what to think of that one. But I will agree with everyone here. The nerves are wearing raw and the tensions high. Anyone that joins up here and posts something on this thread like that could be misinterpreted easily. For that I think we all apologize. But the media has been circling these forums looking for pilots stupid enough to answer their questions ... and even PMed some of us (RIDICULOUS) looking for someone to respond. I read your post as well Chazzo and was a little suspicious at first, but reading it again I realized you meant no harm by what you said, and welcome you to APC :) Hopefully you'll find a true brotherhood/sisterhood of aviators here who, like was stated before, may rip each other a new one every so often, but in the end consider each other family. |

I'm no pilot but in light of the recent events, and the seemingly mentally challenged people working in the media, I thought I would register and say I appreciate all of the work that you guys do.
I frequently fly YYZ-BOS on Eagle ERJ135's. I've been on many flights where the weather has been poor - landing in snowstorms, crosswinds, breaks between thunderstorms, etc. I'm crapping myself and you guys are probably loving it :D After reading many of the posts in this forum over a couple of weeks I realize the challenges you guys and girls face every day. I just wanted to say Thank You and express my gratitude for flying me safely and skillfully and allowing me to see my family after every trip. Thank you. Definitely thanks. I'm not flying in the US but I surely would if all paxes were like you. Remembering all the *******y days we had fighting mother nature, delays and others...we'll love it even more now knowing we have in the back guys like you !;) Take care. |
My airline (a regional in Europe), recommends that the PF comes out of the flight deck to say goodbye to paxes with the #1. So we have a "little feedback" (and comments on the landings, either good or bad). I find it real nice. And we can check out all the people we had on board (joke).

Thank you Paxman. As someone who just got recently furloughed reading your post made me miss my job. :) Hopefully I'll be back in the skies soon flying for good folks like yourself! Thank you!!

I fly about 25 times a year on average and am just in awe of the work you folks do. Nervous passengers like myself are not usually thinking of your work as dangerous but the fact is yours is a continuous battle against gravity, the elements and whatever else from take-off to landing. And like the individual above, I get home to the wife and kids every time. Keep up the good work. You are appreciated and have my unflagging support in all instances. |
