Thank you, all of you, for the work you do

I'm no pilot but in light of the recent events, and the seemingly mentally challenged people working in the media, I thought I would register and say I appreciate all of the work that you guys do.

I frequently fly YYZ-BOS on Eagle ERJ135's. I've been on many flights where the weather has been poor - landing in snowstorms, crosswinds, breaks between thunderstorms, etc. I'm crapping myself and you guys are probably loving it :D

After reading many of the posts in this forum over a couple of weeks I realize the challenges you guys and girls face every day. I just wanted to say Thank You and express my gratitude for flying me safely and skillfully and allowing me to see my family after every trip.

My emotions must be in override right now. That made me tear up a bit after everything that's been said. Thank you very much, it certainly means a lot to all of us right now.

"I'm crapping myself and you guys are probably loving it" HAHAHAHA, that was awesome!! We do love our jobs my friend, and the challenges it entails, but to fully appreciate the job you must accept and understand the risks and challenges to their fullest ;)

You win the award for the best first post if I had to vote!

Cheers to you my friend, and may life take you in good directions :)

Pax,

Thank you.

PaxMan,

Thank you. It is a rarity to hear people appreciate the job that we do. You are right about the media. With an environment as complex as aviation, they have no idea what goes on in general. They cant even get the amounts we are paid correctly. Most of us on the regional level make between 15,000/yr to 50,000/yr depending on how long we have been with the company and whether or not we are a captain or first officer.

Despite the 21st century systems in the flight deck, it is still a very hard job and we spend a lot of time away from home each month. Thank you for showing your appreciation, I can say that it means a lot to me and probably a lot to everyone else on here as well.

Thank you paxman. Even though I've been furloughed for 8 months, I'm still coming back. We do love our jobs but rarely feel appreciated. It means a lot that you took the time to learn about our jobs and write to us.

Thank you Pax and welcome to APC!

Thanks Paxman. It's good to know that folks not involved in the industry don't believe everything the media says. They really can be a bunch of bumbling idiots.

Thanks for recognizing the job we do. :)
