DCI schedule changes thread

I think we are all going to start to see some big changes in the next couple months with where we fly. I thought I would start a thread that anyone can update as we go along.
A lot of my info comes from some guy on airliners.net who updates delta stuff every week.
Here is some stuff I know. All of these have been released on Delta.com as well.
Summer changes so far:
LGA-OMA Comair CR9
DTW-FSD 9E CR2
HPN-CVG 9E CR2
DTW-LEX Comair CR9

DTW-MLI 9E CRJ
DTW-RST 9E CRJ
ATL-BIL ASA CR9

I have no specifics but on our March bid packet at RP (CHQ) was told to expect large schedule changes for the month of April on the Delta flying. They said that it would affect the trips that carry out of March.

CRJDriver 02-18-2009 08:02 AM

Am I reading this right? ATL-BIL? As in Billings, Montana? That is one long flight in the CR9.

Yes it is, and add DTW SLC by Mesaba CR9 probably to supplement their SLC stuff.

This is new.. I hope there isn't a reduction in MSP to FSD, that would suck for my commute

NO reduction, unfortunately I believe the reduction comes from CVG FSD

ExperimentalAB 02-18-2009 10:28 AM

Silver lining is y'all get to see a bit more of the country than you did pre-merger??

B00sted 02-18-2009 11:43 AM

Windsor 02-18-2009 03:55 PM

If my Lido chart holders get any thicker, i'm going to need to use an overnight bag as my flight bag.

Yes, we have talked about it for a few weeks. It is just another way to pi$$s off our passenger 76 seats at a time.

Pre-merger, yes. But pre-bankruptcy, no.
I haven't seen Montana, Nevada, Colorado, or California since Comair went BK in 2005.

Ahhh...I didn't know they slimmed down so much.

I haven't seen Montana, Nevada, Colorado, or California since Comair went through a sham BK in 2005.

There you go. I fixed it for you.

Normally, I would agree with you, acl65, but this is brand new nonstop service for this Summer. Normally, people would have to stop in SLC to get to Billings and then get stuck on an RJ anyway from SLC to BIL. At least it's a nonstop RJ now! It should be a nonstop mainline aircraft, though!

I thought DL used to run a B738 between ATL-BIL during the summer? Either way, I already feel bad for the pax on that RJ flight.

Ya! That's one dang long flight to be on an RJ! When I used to fly for Skywest, we would do SLC to YYZ on the -900 which is just a little longer than Billings.

You must have not ever flown on a CRJ before. Blood flow to the legs will end about 2.5 hours into the flight.

I've spent MORE than my fair share of commuting on RJ's, thank you! I've been commuting and dead heading on them for over eight years! Don't you know that in Canada hot air descends and cold air rises?

My post was to point out that fact that the passengers at least don't have to switch planes in SLC. They might need a wheelchair when they get off in BIL, but at least they get a nonstop flight!

PinnacleFO 02-19-2009 06:16 AM

here is some more, all skywest stuff
SLC DSM
SLC FAR
SLC BIS
SLC MKE
Delta to Link Eight More U.S. Communities to Salt Lake City Hub - Yahoo! Finance

Coehill 02-20-2009 12:07 PM

AC Jazz, flies their CRJ-705 from Calgary to IAH if you want to talk long RJ flights.

RoughLandings 02-20-2009 12:34 PM

XJT does YYZ-IAH and CLE-ABQ in the 145XR. Absolutely miserable in the winter. I flew YYZ-IAH once where the block time was 5:31, but that included at 40 min. ground hold in YYZ.

Back in my day we did IAH-BOI in the 145XR. Scheduled block was 4:05 there and 3:50 on the way back. I did lots of day turns there that were close to 9 hours block. I think the longest flight was EWR-OMA though as far as mileage goes. Riding from ATL to BIL on a 900 would be a dream compared to some of the flights CAL has XJT doing in 50-seat Embraers.

PinnacleFO 02-21-2009 05:52 AM

here are three flights that are no longer to be
DTW SHV
CVG ATW
CVG SAT

Avroman 02-21-2009 06:13 AM

Interesting Mesaba is doing DTW-LEX in March as a new route.... Guess that will be short lived along with all the SLC flying.

My mistake, Comair is not doing that one, you guys are.

Avroman 02-21-2009 10:36 AM

In that case add DTW-CLT on Mesaba CR9 starting in March too.

ASA used to do the ATL-BZE on a CRJ 700. I went from CVG to ATL on a 757, then had to ride in a 700 for three hours to BZE! Wacky! Thhhhhhhatttt's Delta!!!

Comair from what we've been told by Delta

Avroman 02-23-2009 11:54 AM

We've been told at Mesaba that it's looking like SLC will only be for a couple months then we are moving our 5 900's to JFK..... All subject to change yet again.

Those 5 planes have had a rough upbringing with 4 different sets of parents and multiple homes. I wouldn't be suprised if they run away one day.

CRJDriver 02-24-2009 01:13 PM

I'm in SLC right now and it's weird seeing all those Mesaba CRJ9s in NWA Airlink paint operating DL flights...
