I've read somewhere RAH will continue to operate the planes if there is a takeover. Now, how long they will is another story.

Seriously, there is a plane running between HNL and OGG every 20 minutes. That kind of service is unnecessary and ridiculous. Although I gotta say, the last time I looked at intra-HI fares, I don't recall seeing these kinds of fares.

i dont know the full story on the mokulelee operation out there but i heard when it was started there was a problem with the booking software. It was treating the 170 as the same size as a caravan and only booking 9-10 people on each flight.

Did anybody really think this was going to be a long-term operation for RAH? Seriously?

So about the same time that Mokulele looks like they might be closing shop is about the same time that the rumors that Midwest is ending their 717 operations. RAH could be a creditor and ask for the 717s to go head to head with Hawaiian. RAH if I remember has had a skelton reservation system (at least back in the 2003-4 time frame) that could be put into place. I'm sure they have learned some lessons from GO! and their time in the market. With an operation already in place the costs to set up would be substantially less. I guess only time will tell.
